The pressure is on the Astros

They are the favorites. They have the first two at home. They really need to win those first two with as well as the Sox play at home. The Sox only need a split in the first two. And if they can win game one then the pressure really is on the Stros to win game two. Pressure like that can do strange things to a team.

Which team, which players can perform the best now with the lights the brightest. I thought the Sox really felt that pressure in last years playoffs. Hopefully this year they are more relaxed and play up to their talent.

I actually kind of agree with this. The Astros really need to take the first 2 to have a strangle hold on this series. If the Sox can just take 1 in Houston, we'll get home field going back to Chicago where we played the Astros extremely well in the series after the ASB.

Also, as bad as our record is against Houston, 4 of the 7 games were definitely close/winnable for us.

The only trends to take from the regular season was how our starters performed against HOU, and Cease and Lynn had very bad performances there. Rodon had two great performances against the Astros and Giolito also had one great one at home.

Also, the Astros starting pitching performed very well against the Sox, especially in HOU. However, we were down about a third of our current batting order. So hopefully, Robert, Jimenez, and a revitalized Grandal have a different outcome this time around.
