I think Lynn is fine. This was a carbon copy of his outing in Houston in June, we had him being beaten badly in Houston if they got home field advantage pegged months ago as the likely result, well before his IL stint.

It is a non zero chance that thing is still sore and he is toughing it out. A lot of times you hear about these guys being fine, but also hear later about them getting a minor procedure done after the season is over.

Dumb af. He a fastball pitcher, they are a fastball hitting team. They own him. Doesn’t take rocket science, he couldn’t “mix in” a curveball or change up he just added a month or two ago.

You can’t ask a guy to be something he isn’t all of a sudden in the playoffs. A few more breaking balls wasn’t going to change this performance.

Great, so now if he has to pitch again in this series he doubts his normal game plan. Good work!

He’s not right. Don’t even matter at this point what it is. Confidence he will straighten himself out in the post season has to be low. Not saying I wouldn’t pitch him again in the series. But I’m going with my young heathy mentally clear studs from here on out

His game plan hasn't worked vs. Houston for years. I hope he does doubt it

No, it hasn’t worked IN Houston. He has been solid against them when pitching at home. 2-1 with an ERA in the low 3s against them at home, now 3-7 with an ERA approaching 6 in Houston.

It will be interesting to see what they do this offseason if they lose the next two games. Any thoughts?

Well if we get swept it clearly means we're just not talented enough to compete with the elite teams. I know that's hard to believe considering we were 2nd in baseball in fWAR this year, but we also ended up playing lots of games against a very bad AL Central and we beat the shit out of the Orioles, Cubs, and Rangers. We'll see how the rest of the series plays out, but we have some pretty obvious holes in this lineup and some of our core players aren't living up to their potential (Eloy).

He brought his damn dog to watch the game too? You don't mess with ritual this much. Make him leave the dog at home next time.

Just the dog or did he also bring a dessert

Cora just pulled Rodriguez after 1.2 innings. Really makes you wonder why La Russa let Lynn pitch to Brantley. Lynn had given up hard contact that entire inning. That was basically the inning that broke the camel's back. Had we gotten out of it without any runs, it might have been a different game. We were close to putting up 3-4 runs in the last few innings.

Kopech is only gonna be used when the starter is getting absolutely bombed?

I would rather have used Crochet in the spot against Brantley. Instead we used him a few innings later when it was a 6 run game.
