ALCS - BoSox / Ashoes

Boston has to know the shitstros are up to something.  After all, their manager would know a thing a two about it.  But after a hit in the 9th, they went out had a meeting and then the catcher went back out and went over signs again.  First two batters had no idea at the plate and were guessing.  Then shitcans have scored seven runs already.  Doesn't help that joke of an ump missed a 3rd strike call that would have ended it.

There is no doubt in my mind they are still using some sort sign stealing.  The players already know nothing happened to them the first time.  So why not do it when they need to?  What a fucking joke.

Only surprise is Angel Hernandez or Joe West isn't involved...who was the one we had an issue with again, Tom Hallion?

Laz Diaz is the home plate umpire, so it isn't really surprising. He's always been one of the worst. I think if you asked people to guess who the home plate umpire was, Laz Diaz would be the 1st or 2nd guess, interchangeable with Angel.

Cowboy Joe isn't even that bad, he's just a loose cannon.

Maybe, just maybe, giving up 8+ runs a game and managing the bullpen so atrociously made a difference too?

Yup. Horrible bullpen management accounted for the game 2 loss alone… but I still think we win if they don’t have McCullers.

Doesn’t have to be an either / or situation when “both” is possible.

My God, can Michael Brantley rake.

It's a shame. He was there for the taking this offseason, and Hahn had other "ideas", and priorities.

The White Sox, after their experiences with Dunn, Melky Cabrera and LaRoche...it just seems impossible to imagine them paying another FA (position player) $15+ million to join this particular payroll.

Obviously, they signed Grandal, but that RF spot has been an issue ever since Avi Garcia had one particularly strong season in the middle of his White Sox career, then couldn't manage to repeat it.

Arguably, they would have been better off simply keeping Avi at his salaries and performance level since departure.

Even at $10 million plus, he got slightly too expensive for comfort, can't imagine $15-18 or even 20 million...not without doing some major tinkering with Kimbrel and Keuchel and some of the other bigger salaries (Abreu/Grandal/Hendriks/Lynn) now on the books, or that they've hinted at/intimated.

So you are surprised that the BoSox changed up the signs in the ninth…after a lead off double and with a runner on 2b?

This is what the Astros did to us the entire series.  If we gave them an extra out, or the umps gave them an extra strike, they capitalized.  I know the conversation was about how do you reduce the team ERA so much?  The answer is right here again.  7 runs came after this missed call, that shouldn't have been.  We saw this time after time in our series with the Astros.

Have you ever considered what Brantley wanted to do? Or it Hahn's fault that Brantley wanted to play where he has been for the last few years where they have competed annually? Should he have uprooted his family to leave that situation to split LF/DH with Eloy? There are 30 teams. To act like the Sox are failures in hindsight that they didn't bring in a guy who was happy in his situation when we have someone in his position is crazy.

They signed Eaton on December 10.  For $8M guaranteed. And cut him with pay in mid July.

Eloy is not an OF. If he can't DH, move him while he still has value.

And none of this has to do with Brantley resigning where he wanted to be.
