That said, there is a reason why these businesses keep appreciating at incredible rates, and it isn't because they bleed cash.

Exactly. It's a fucking cartel with a guaranteed profit. It's one of the single best investments a billionaire can make. GTFO with this crying poor shit.

My boycott won't make a bit of difference and I DGAF. It's personal with me now and baseball. They fucked me as a kid in 97 and now they are fucking me again. Fuck them.

But where is there to turn?

The SEC in football is much stronger than all but the Top 6-8 MLB markets financially…plus, you now have all these NIL’s and one and done NCAA basketball players.

I appreciate the once in a decade Caitlyn Clark’s of the NCAAW as much as possible…but that’s still not quite the same from a fan standpoint.

And professional soccer/futbol around the world is bigger business than MLB…although I’m enjoying the EPL fans squirm over what to do now about Roman Abramovich’s ownership of Chelsea.

The Mariners, Harold cheering for Kelenic aside, have been worse than the White Sox since the early 2000’s, lost the Sonics and the Seahawks are mired in mediocrity and will likely get worse if Russell Wilson is dealt.

I’m starting to look at this season as 1981 that won’t be a split season. If they start around Memorial Day (which means settling by the end of April), I’ll hate it, but I’ll watch. As soon as this season becomes fewer than 100 games, I’m out. Won’t watch, won’t care if the Sox win the World Series. It’ll be a non-season for me. Hopefully they (owners and players) start hearing the fans and they figure it out soon. I’d be very pleased to see some good news this weekend, or Monday.

Maybe you too can threaten to move to Nashville!  I’ve always believed living in a AA MiLB community like San Antonio would be more rewarding…if you have family, at least.

And speaking of the dangers of billionaires/corporations…https://ips-dc.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/IPS-Report-Who-Is-Buying-Seattle.pdf

I didn’t threaten to move to Nashville…I actually fucking did it.  And trust me, going to a Sounds games is not anywhere near as rewarding as going to a Sox game.

Scroll through Bleacher Report.  Plenty of articles that might interest you.

Come on man, we provide all the links for all the stuff we talk about that you are against, without fail.  I ask for just a few links and you tell me to go read bleacher report.  That sucks

Does Bleacher Report still post fan articles, or do they have reputable writers posting content now?

Jose Abreu is making almost $17 million this year, and is set to push his career earnings to $100 million next year.  He also opted out of his earlier contract because it didn't pay him as much as he could potentially make through arbitration.

I don't think he is the guy you want to hold up as someone playing for any amount of money.

Jose is exactly who I want to use as an example.  He has been treated fairly throughout his major league career and has repeatedly said he will end his playing days with the WS.  Some players use more than dollars as the barometer of being treated fairly.

Yet, he 100% wasn't satisfied with his contract, and forced the Sox to pay him more to stay.

Why would you think I am trying to emulate what you do?

He has also been paid way more by the White Sox than he would have been had he gone through free agency after 2019.

His first contract was also 6 years/ $68 mill. Most of these players won’t even see a fraction of that.

I still have this issue - I don't see what will restart negotiations if they blow through the deadlines next week. When there was no deadline, they sat there doing nothing. What gets them talking in April to get a deal done?

Emulate?  How about support your stance.  Not hard.  Instead you talk about your large parties with all these friends who totally agree with everything you say
