Rays discussing Joey Wendle in trades… any interest for second base? Good D… 3.8 fWAR…

Most games played in his career at second. Left handed. 14 drs average per 162 at that position. Almost a .800 OPS vs RHP last year.

Not enough pop?

Phillies and Padres… always the fucking Phillies and Padres.

Padres aren't gonna sign anyone without getting rid of Hosmer. Phillies sign one of Conforto/Castellanos, then HOPEFULLY we sign the other lol.

He appears to have 2 full years of control remaining, which means for a decent player he won't come as cheap as you want. It doesn't involve Vaughn or Crochet, but it would likely involve a package of players going back since our system doesn't have that many strong players available. That said...good fit if they could make it work.

Here's the good news, a lot of our prospects are young and years from 40 man protection which is what rays would like.

Wendle to Marlins

Bastards. I really liked the idea of having him. Looks like it’s simply a 1-1 deal with a prospect going back. Will like seeing who that prospect is.

This is more upsetting to me than not signing the other players we weren’t likely to sign anyway.

Infuriating offseason

I’m pissed at this one but three things:

1.) Wait to see who the Marlins sent

2.) Wait to see what we end up with at second base

3.) Maybe the Rays didn’t want an AL contender getting better
