We will see if Bears ownership wants to pay for a stadium in Arlington Heights because if not I hope my neighbors join me in not giving them a fucking dime to help fund the new stadium.  Would love them out in the burbs for going to games but if tax payers should never help fund stadium for ultra wealthy people, the economics never work out for the taxpayers

The new stadium will most likely be funded by the Bears, the NFL and/or a private investor or a combination thereof. Some public money may go into it but most likely very limited or nothing at all. Their just hasn’t been any definite leaks or news yet on this hence why there’s some uncertainty but there should be some news soon I would think.

So the Bears now are going to start spending money on the team and not just a little but about $2B.  If Arlington Heights is kicking in funds then ok.

What major money making events are going to pay for this stadium and whne will it them be profitable?

Concerts...Super Bowl that they will get once every 10 years....same with NCAA championship

For concerts they have to outbid Wrigley and Soldier Field in the summer and in reality how many concerts want 60K seat venues?

I think in theory and maybe with a different ownership group it may work but what tells me that the McCaskey's are looking to spend in this manner, they barely spend on an actual football team now.

For some reason I do not see them being as successful as Jerry World.

casino, gambling. Liberty media just turned their suburban park into a big profit center with the hospitality and retail on site. Only year 3.

Jenkins is a good reminder that 2nd round tackles are like the 1st round prep righthander of the NFL.

Arkush was saying that he's not a lock to make the 53 man.

It's Hub, so TIFWIW.

What? No he is not.

I read his twitter profile again, nevermind your right. I get that if the Bears ask for public money it can get difficult but in my honest opinion, I don’t think that’s where they are going to ask for the bulk of the money or none at all. I’m thinking it will be funded from the Bears, through the NFL, maybe from a private investor, and maybe through some tax breaks or a combination thereof. There are options without using public funding. These questions are being raised partly because the organization is being so tight lipped about it and rightly so because they are still going through the sale process. What do you think?

The NFL will dangle a Super Bowl and that will shake loose any public money they need.

You have officially lost your mind here.

Yeah well I don’t feel that I did anything drastic to be removed from this site but you can go ahead and do so if you want. I will just come here to read the posts.
