If signing a big bat is contingent on moving Kimbrel, then a bidding war could be counterproductive if it takes too long.

Fortunately, for some of the names that we want, their agent is a man who doesn't mind his clients waiting, even as far as into the season.

I'd certainly be cool with one.

I don't need a new BMW, but I sure wouldn't be upset about one.

If they are trying to flip him for prospect capital to use for a starting pitcher, then by all means wait it out for the best offer.  But if they just need that $16M freed up to sign Conforto, rip the bandaid off and get it done.

The problem is when guys sign really late, like after the season has already begun, they usually have crappy numbers.

In other word, TA isn’t going anywhere.

It is actually weird how often media people badly overlook basic details about this team.

I wonder when he broke it. You have to wonder if not having access to team doctors affected his return timeline.

apparently had a bad bike crash and people are speculating that he didn't get it fixed immediately. this contract is going to be monumentally bad. shoulders and wrists are no joke, especially with his absolutely violent swing style.

I'm sure with the kind of money he's getting paid he didn't need to wait for the lockout to end before hiring a specialist.

The shoulder is also a ticking time bomb.
