Didn't the Braves make a $100 million + profit last year?

This is out of the JR playbook…no sixth year for position players in their thirties, not unlike the White Sox still not daring to give another five year contract to a pitcher after Danks.

(Noted they did make an exception for Konerko and even Contreras to a lesser extent after 2005.)

But that’s what happens when you negotiate with bottom-line corporations and not “real” people with emotions invested in maintaining ongoing successful relationships.

The Sox have spent 27 million this off-season and arguably have not improved the roster. Pretty impressive.

its truly pathetic... they waste so much money on dogshit players every year.

RF has not been improved

2B has not been improved

SP has not been improved.

BP is a wash (Kelly vs Tepera).

Horrible offseason so far.  Though I still have hope for RF

I'm not sure what you're getting at here, riding a motorcycle is signficantly more dangerous than driving a car.

Which is why sports contracts often prohibit higher risk activities like motorcycles (but not driving).

A's without 1b right now (just seth brown). What about Vaughn for Montas?

No. Sheets would play first. If you're going to trade a 1st baseman it will be Sheets

While I agree with the overall sentiment, the bullpen is definitely better on paper with Kelly and Graveman.

Yep....this is bad. I feel we are unable or unwilling to compete in this market.

Suzuki getting 70m is a horrible sign for where Conforto's market will end up.

I'm beginning to hate the offseason!
