Not sure why this is in PHT, but anyway it's nice that Joe Buck is going to MNF when there is a Manningcast alternative.

Move it if it should be somewhere else, but I figured Joe Buck not calling WS games was newsworthy enough to put here.

I am in the minority that likes Buck. I think he runs a real good broadcast. I was born in 92. So, I automatically associate his voice with "big games". He should be better than the play by play guys on MNF that have cycled through since Mike Tirico (with whom I like as well). I always liked the Buck/Aikman tandem on FOX. I wonder who will be the top NFL and baseball duo now?

I don't like Buck calling baseball games in particular because he is oftentimes way too dry and emotionless during big moments. See Konerko's big grand slam. After he announced grand slam, there was silence from him, and granted they should be for a little while so those watching can hear the crowd, but it just lasts too long.

Yes, I like him too. Never understood the hate. I know some don’t like that he doesn’t go Hawkeroo , but he is a national broadcast. Locals should be homers like Hawk. National , I think Buck does a good job without sounding like he just came out of broadcaster school.

Funny, that's exactly why I like Buck. He let's the atmosphere take over and speak for itself. He doesn't make the moment all about himself ranting and raving. Spewing signature catch phrases or calls. Summerall, Scully, etc. Practiced the art that way. Being a great announcer isn't making the BIG call or playing up to the intensity of the moment. It's the little nuances, which I think Buck does well. He also allows the moment to just be... instead of inserting himself into it.

To each their own, though.

I also have seen him interviewed, and he's really funny/likable. He totally plays along with the "I hate your team" and "I know you hate me" bit. It's funny. He seems like a humble guy with a great respect, passion, and work ethic towards what he does.
