Does Boras hold out for $100M or does Conforto take a shorter show me deal the longer this drags out?

The longer this drags out the more likely Conforto takes a prove it deal.

The Sox *should* be a very appealing team for Conforto if he has to go the short-term route. Hitter friendly park, great lineup around him, and he'll get to play on a high profile team/contender.

But would the Sox really put a higher AAV on the table than a team like Boston? Especially when it seems like they have money to spend and can check all of the same boxes for him our Sox would.

At this point he'd cost the Mets more than the QO since they're deep in the tax.

I know Cohen has more money than god, but I can't see them pushing Cahna to DH (13M AAV, just signed) and Cano + Dom Smith out of their projected lineup completely.

Conforto is unvaxxed?  I have a hard time believing the team that made that mandatory for their entire minor league system is going to give him 100 mil.

They gave Graveman a quarter of that.

I saw your tweet yesterday and all I could think of is there was no way I thought Hosmer would get $144m. Boras always proves me wrong.

This is where I am at. I have no idea if the process of the Conforto contract dragging out means more or less money for him. We shall see. I'm not going to guess on this one and certainly not going to state my opinion as truth.

Mets were willing to go to $120M for Conforto and apparently still want him.  They will get him so Sox fans that don't want him should be able to rest easy.

Hard for me to understand why any Sox wouldn’t want Conforto. At 5/$110M plus…I guess I get it. But 4/$75-80M….I truly wouldn’t get why anyone would be opposed. He makes this team alot better in several ways.

If the reports are true that the Mets offered him $120M prior to the 2021 that means he already bet on himself once and lost. If he goes the short term route he's again gambling on himself  and if he loses he's really fucked himself.

In that vein, getting a longer term contract for guaranteed money seems like the route to go even if it is 3 years but he would probably want an opt out after 1 year just in case he does rebound to pre 2021 numbers.

I still wouldn't put it passed Boras to get him 4 years with a 1 yr opt out.

It really is a head scratcher. All about money, but you'd think a better team would increase revenue, more people in the park, deeper playoff run. What do I know though.

I might be fine if it landed between $13M - $18M per year.

$20M+ is a pass for me.  Personally I'd max out at $15M

4 years closer to 90 mill is what he's looking for.
