I applaud the Royals players for making this decision. It's their own personal decision that has no affect on others and comments like the one you shared are an example of a bullying culture that puts public pressure on people take an injection that they may not feel comfortable taking.

Given that 10 out of 26 players didn’t get vaccinated, it really doesn’t seem like the “bullying culture” you suggest had any impact. 

But that works both ways. Given what I posted earlier with the Royals hosting an insanely weird “anti-pornography” seminar for the entire organization, along with Dayton Moore and Mike Matheny going out of there way to tell the world how important their faith is, there seems to be a trend with how the Royals conduct their business and what they believe in. Given that thus far the Royals have far and away the most players on a single team that have to go on the restricted list…it’s not a very far leap to take that the organization has pushed their views on their players.

Seems like a pretty big leap there. Not seeing how faith and vaccination are correlated.

Maybe they left it up to their players to decide for themselves without pressure.

I’d be able to buy that more if they didn’t have a mandatory meeting set by the President of the team to discuss how masterbation and pornography lead to domestic abuse of women. 

These aren’t kids, they are adults. Why not let them make their own decisions as adults, why pressure them?

Unless you're in the microscopic percentage of the population who is too immunocompromised to receive the vaccine, there is no "reward" for anyone not to get the shot. Anti vax talking points like this being normalized and treated as a personal choice issue rather than a public health one is a huge part of the reason why the virus is yet to be contained.

• We have documented history that in the last 5 years, the Royals held an organizational seminar with players to discuss the negative effects of masturbation and pornography. Conversely, Democrats are much more likely than Republicans to be religiously unaffiliated – describing themselves as atheists, agnostics or “nothing in particular” when asked about their religion." Additionally, "Religiously unaffiliated voters make up 38% of Democratic voters. This has roughly doubled since 2008, when this group made up 18% of Democrats. Over this period, the share of Democratic voters who are Christians has declined from 74% to 52%. White Christians continue to make up a large majority of Republican voters. White evangelical Protestants are about a third (32%) of Republican voters, unchanged from 2008. So...given that the Kansas City Royals have an incredibly high number of players that will now appear on the restricted list because they are unvaccinated, more than any other team thus far this season...Yes, I do believe the organization played a role in or had an influence in player decision making process...something you are very clearly against.

Good thing the Royals suck so nobody gives a shit that the 10 people who decided not to get vaccinated are gonna cost their team games in Toronto. Benintendi is also killing his own trade value cause Toronto was interested in acquiring him and they clearly can't unless he gets vaccinated. Teams in the AL East or teams with playoff aspirations are all gonna have to think about whether or not he can even play in a playoff series if they end up playing the Jays.
