Luis Robert has played in more games than Byron Buxton this season.

Yeah, but 1.6 versus 0.7 fWARs.  Just goes to show how impactful he is when in the lineup, and conversely how much the Twins suffer when he's out.

Btw, Machado right now is dominating all of MLB in that stat, leading Arenado and Jose Ramirez 2.8 to 2.0.  Trout and teammate Taylor Ward at 1.9.

He can’t help you if he can’t stay on the field and he certainly hasn’t stayed on the field much these last few years..

Well, this is the exact same argument about Tatis, Jr.

I think it's fair to say between Buxton/Correa and Robert/Moncada...whichever grouping plays the most and puts up the most fWAR for the the remainder of the season is going a long way towards deciding the eventual fate of the division.

Buxton has already earned his $10 million for this season at 1.6 fWAR.

(Time will tell if Carlos Rodon, likewise, will earn his $22 million if he can't finish the season out for whatever reason.)

Nah. Twins rotation doesn’t match up with the Sox. Sox have a top 3 rotation in baseball when healthy while the twins will be lucky to be top 15. Also, the Sox have a better everyday lineup than the Twins. The Twins fade has already begun. I would be surprised if the Sox aren’t in first place by 5+ games at the all star break.

Wonder how long the Twins are going to keep this delay going with the Astros leading 5-1 in the Top of the 4th and not an official game yet...

Before a game starts, the home team determines how long a delay goes. Once it has started, the umpires decide.

The Astros are on a tear and Twins now have/had 13 on the IL...maybe 11 with Arraez and Bundy back.  Missing Baldelli too.

All that said, these next three weeks will tell a ton about the Central.

Sonny Gray vs. Civale tmrw.

I said it a week ago. Twins going to have a Sox April in May.

No, the schedule is too easy for them to be that bad.  If they aren't at least 5-7 games over .500 at the month, they're going to be buried at the beginning of June.

Maybe if the Indians were to come in and ALSO sweep the Twins in Minneapolis after this week's Astros sweep would some creeping doubts about that begin in enter my mind.

Looking at the Sox schedule, July 4th to September 4th will be the time the Sox have to prove they’re the dominant team in the division. It’s 39 division games and 19 not so difficult out of division games. 38-20 those two months shouldn’t be out of the question. If the Sox are around .500 around the 4th of July, they aren’t in bad shape. Just have to get healthy and stay healthy somehow.

No Buxton again.

A's look like they are bound and determined to save the White Sox a one game negative swing in the standings.

Twins 7-23 since 2012 out there and 3-9 their last 12.

A bit reminiscent of West Coast swings for Sox from 2000 through 2008...@LAA @SEA @OAK.

That was also the only team the A's beat when they were both making all those playoff runs from 2001-2010, the Twins.

Until they beat the White Sox in 2020.

A's also had that crazy loss against KC when Oakland was arguably best AL team in the second half of 2014.

Skubal just got hit by a line drive which deflected to the 3rd basemen and was the final out in the 5th inning of his start tonight. He did not come out to pitch the 6th. Unsure if it was related to that or not, but man, the Tigers can't catch a break with any of their young arms right now.
