I doubt the market is big for a 30 year old coming off a year where he didn’t play at all due to injury and the season before was an average starter.

Jermaine Dye and AJ and Carl Everett and Pods and Iguchi weren't in high demand when the Sox picked them up either.  That's how you can get excess value rather than overpaying.

Jenks? Contreras? 2021 Rodon?  Completely given up on by most of MLB front offices...

So he likely waits until the offseason to sign with someone right? Or does a team draw up a contract similar to some TJ free agent pitchers where they get a 2 year deal with the first year obviously being lost due to injury (signed after draft of course so no loss of draft pick) where they can let him rehab for the rest of the year with an organization?

Well, that's what teams have done with guys like Garrett Richards, but it hasn't exactly worked out according to plan.

I think if anything teams will wait for the draft to pass, and then engage his camp on something long term, with a bit of cash this year as an enticement.
