That was the best free agent offer Hahn ever made, and management backed him up with the cash.  Our offer was for more money than he signed for.  It came down to Wheelers future wife wanting to stay on the East coast.

I understand that. Doesn't change the fact I wish he signed here.

I’m sure he did but if the Sox want to win it all, then it might not have a choice.

Whether it’s Cueto, Teheran, or paying a price in a trade that he wouldn’t pay yesterday, there are always other options.

Happens all the time in the NFL. This is a 3-4 month injury for Lynn

So 2-3 months as predicted and was laughed at.

You were off by a month

He also said 3-4 months.

While unlikely, Lynn could be back on an MLB mound in 6 weeks.  Looking like 2 months is realistic.

Yep. 4 weeks healing/rehab, another 3-4 of ramping up pitching.

Healing time for nearly all muscle injuries is somewhere between 4-8 weeks. That's just physiologic healing.

Alright, as one of the more optimistic people here, I’m going to attempt to stay positive. Let’s say Lynn misses 8 starts. How many of those games would we have won? Last year, we were 5-3 in his first 8 starts, so that seems like a reasonable estimate.

I assume Lopez will be taking these starts. So how many of those first 8 games with Lopez/Velasquez pitching will we win? Maybe 3?

So we are looking at a 2 or 3 game difference, perhaps. Could be more, could even be less. Definitely sucks, but not the end of the world.

Like others have said, though, one more injury and we could be in big trouble.

If Lopez starts, who is picking up the slack for Kopech and Keuchel?

You said “Patellar Tendinitis. 3-4 months. no doubt”, so not exactly what you predicted

For a totally different injury.

But other than that, totally right.

Even Wheeler has been experiencing shoulder soreness this spring…
