Chimpton
I would be happy at the moment if they both stayed healthy and lasted the season.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Nice write ups on Kopech and Cease thrown in there with Sandy Alcantara, Logan Webb and Trevor Rogers. Alcantara has a great chase rate and is very good at getting GB out because of a power sinker. Webb also has a good sinker . He ditched his 4 seamer for i and he just totallly dominated the Dodgers in the playoffs. Rogers really limits hard contact with a great barrel rate. Cease made a big jump last year but still has some issues but if he can just keep improving he can be an ace. Kopech is probably the darkest of the dark horses because he'll experience growing pains like most young starting pitchers do , especially when you throw in innings limits and an off season with Covid. Colome's Hat
I think Cease is going to finish in the top 3 this year for Cy Young voting. He was excellent last year and will only improve this year.
NWINFan
I think this can be a breakout season for Cease. Kopech is still a question mark. His development was set back plenty by the surgery and the Covid year.
southsider2k5
FanDuel has Cease at 18:1. Going to guess after the mentions on twitter, he got a nice run up. Kopech is 60:1. Other Sox are Giolito 10:1 (took that one) and Lynn 35:
SpringfieldFan
The upside on these two is ridiculous but both are such wildcards. Neither has been tested over a full season of innings - Kopech has had his innings limited for rehab and Cease's limited innings are well, self inflicted. Both are still fragile in their own ways. Kopech has yet to show physical durability. Cease: well, seeing him visibly shaking during that playoff game told me all I need to know about his mental maturity. Can either overcome those hurdles? Yeah. I would put my money on Cease first though. I think his 2021 experience is hopefully something he may have grown from.
Harold's Leg Lift
I think Kopech is going to have a tremendous season.
CentralChamps21
No chance Kopech throws enough innings to get CY consideration. I could see Cease putting it all together this year and making a run.

Cease is a guy who could completely and legitimately jump into that discussion. Kopech it’s very unlikely this year, but there’s no reason why you can’t put him on the list for this year in case he comes in like top 10 after 130 strong innings, and get people introduced to him now in the process. I could see putting Cease in a list of darkhorses. But putting Kopech anywhere near a list of Cy darkhorses is gilting the Lilly a bit. To, thats the more pronounced clickbait here.
