I will admit a morbid curiosity as to the lineups the next few weeks without Anderson. I’m not sure what the best answer actually is to who should lead off, and that makes this extra fascinating. Will we get Leury/Harrison/Mendick because they’re short?

Mendick is actually 4th on the team in OPS behind TA/Vaughn/Robert. Not expecting that he'd keep up that pace but there's not really a better option right now. Leave Robert/Vaughn/Abreu as 2-3-4.

Pollack makes he most sense as of right now to me

Are you suggesting we lead off Danny Mendick?

You need someone to get on base in front of Robert-Vaughn-Abreu. The OBP of the options are:

Mendick .310

Engel .308

Pollock .246

Harrison .245

Garcia .200

Moncada .175

If you think over whatever period of time TA is out one of these others will do better than Mendick, I wouldn't disagree, but if you look at the numbers right now he's the least bad option.

Honestly, it’s got to be Moncada or Pollock leading off.  Those other are not options.

You want to hit the guy with a career MiLB OBP of .299 in the lead off spot because he has a .310 OBP in 30 PAs this season in MLB.

Look I get that a lot of guys are struggling, but that is the definition of a LaRussa line up.

Pollock has a track record....not currently but he has performed more recently than others.  Put him there and have him DH to limit his workload and play him every day.

Moncada as well until he pulls something again climbing the dugout steps....this is assuming the quad injury is not season ending because of the ground out Sunday.

Of all the stupid batshit right wing positions TLR has, why couldn't anti-vax be one of them? Get someone else making the lineup for 3 days.

Their best game last season was when Tony was in Florida attending a funeral, and Miguel Cairo managed the Field of Dreams game.

Solid lineup, the Sox played hard from the first to last pitch, very exciting baseball and their best win of the season.

Well, stopping would have been better than what happened because McGuire would have scored, but it still would have been making the 3rd out with Vaughn coming up. But, no, IT WAS NOT A GOOD PLAY. The right play was to not go in the first place.

No, HE'S NOT ABLE TO GET A BASE HIT BOTH SIDES OF THE PLATE. Not since last season.

Every day this guy says multiple things that just don't fit the facts.

Grandal at a .489 ops.

Lowest of ALL 165 qualified MLB players.

A full 24 points behind #164, Avisail Garcia of the Marlins.

#161 Marcus Semien at a robust .540 comparatively.

Remember when Brian Anderson’s 575-625 was not enough to hold down CF in 2008?  Playing near Gold Glove defense?

He’s not hitting or drawing walks.  Yaz is an automatic out right now.  And he somehow looks even slower running the bases.

Really hoping the "good play" comment was with respect to the defense making a good play to get him at 2B.  Not Mendick.  But of course, this is TLR we're talking about, so common sense goes out the door.

Even if Yaz gets on base, you will need a homer to bring him in.  He is so slow.!
