caulfield12
Did Ruiz always throw this hard...seems like he has picked up a tick or two. Now who gets the 8th? Guess another argument for not overspending on the pen in Ruiz...but still need that veteran savvy in Graveman and Kelly. At any rate, that's arguably the most impressive Ruiz has looked... maxjusttyped
Ruiz as the 5th option (once Kelly is back) in a bullpen is pretty ridiculous. I have no idea why people make him out to be a human gas can. He is a perfectly acceptable reliever.
chw42
Ruiz might be better vs. lefties right now cause of that change up.

Texsox
I've been pleasantly surprised by our 6-7-8 inning pitching this season. But to be fair I am expect disasters every time.

maxjusttyped
If Ruiz has another year with 65 IP and a 3.05 ERA will people stop freaking out every time he comes into a close game?

Ducksnort
How did Ruiz get so much better. Didn't he used to be just filler for our rebuilding bullpen?
SoCalChiSox
Let Graveman pitch the 8th. Get some insurance runs now

Chris Sale
Love to see Ruiz execute in a high leverage situation. Hopefully that change up is for real - it really changes his value as a reliever. Smart move to use him here vs the 7-8-9. Has to be Graveman next right?

He found a good change up to help him with lefties. His curve ball is kinda bad, so getting him a secondary pitch he can depend on to go with his fast but very straight fastball is huge.
Capn12
Yeah, the changeup is what makes Ruiz so much more impactful, if he mastered that.
