It’s amazing to not score a run on a double when guys are on first and second lol

Not when you have Leury on your team. Against a slightly faster RFer...almost anyone, basically...he's dead to rights and doubled off first quite easily.

Imagine that turning into a runner on third and two outs.

Because he started from a dead stop and wasn't expecting to be sent...he wasn't going full speed, sure.

He didn't know Leury was right behind him. Had he actually ran hard around third that's a much closer play at home.

Also, why would the hustle matter? The ball was hit to the wall in RF, to a guy that isn't going to throw him out at 3rd. It wasn't Luis' fault, that Leury has no idea how to check the guy in front of him on the bases.

because he should be tagging up... what are you guys talking about. Robert did exactly what he should do there.

Don't think so. As a runner at second you have to read the flight of the ball and know who the fielder is.  Instead he had his back to the wall and was looking over his shoulder. Leury did that and Robert did not. Robert should easily score on that ball once it goes off the wall. He's already in scoring position at 2nd base with great speed. He could've walked home if he went even a quarter of the way to third.

Obviously there is some blame on Leury too because he had to stop once he saw Robert still there.

And it was caught like most RF's would have done, Robert still would have been at 2B because of needing to go back to tag.

If you go halfway there's almost no way to then tag up and get to third if it's caught.

You can blame Robert for underestimating how bad Reyes is in RF, I guess?
