Leury at 2B, Eloy at DH, Burger at 3B, McGuire C, platoon statues in the corner OF

I guess that’s kinda what we got to work with right now. Still no idea why Leury is anywhere but 8 or 9. TLR gonna be right one these days!

Also interesting is they really seem to want to make Sheets into a RF.  Vaughn is playing left while Eloy DH's

It's a waste of a roster spot on Engel if you aren't even going to start him in CF when Robert is out.

AJ Pollock is a fine center fielder. He's better in CF than he ever will be in right because his arm is his weakest spot. Frankly we're better with Pollock in CF and Engel in RF if both are playing.

The debate should be Sheets vs Engel.

AJP is coming off of a hamstring injury and it is 40 and rainy in Minneapolis.  Luckily the guy doesn't have an injury history or anything.

He's fine in center but he's old and has lost a step. Engel is better in CF and should start there and Pollock should be in right field.

Also, why is our worst defensive player in right field again? Does Tony understand that LF is much easier than RF?

Yep, don't get it either.  Rather see Engel out there, and move Sheets to the bench in the shuffle.

I'd rather see the best defensive alignment - Harrison/Anderson/Leury/Abreu in the IF and Vaughn/Engel/Pollock in the OF and then put whoever you want at DH. It's not like anybody has been so on fire with the bat recently that you're losing something with Harrison and Engel in there.

Fine. Either way, when you only have three decent outfielders to begin with, you really need to have at least two of them in the lineup.

Presumably Harrison is still hurt.

The amount that Tony has forgotten to understand is greater than any understanding you will ever understandably understand....is that understood, Ray?

Never in a million years would I have thought we’d see such an awful lineup given what we had returning at the end of last year.

Lineup would be OK imo with Engel in there. Move Pollock up to 2nd:

Tim SS
Pollock RF
Abreu 1B
Eloy DH
Vaughn LF
Engel CF
Leury 2B
Burger 3B
Reese C

It's right handed, but this team is heavily right handed. You just can't put two first baseman in the outfield with an aging CF'er. It's just not smart.

I've got yakkety sax all queued up....just hope I don't have to use it.  The more Minnesota K's the better.
