Last year he was going to wear down throwing like 30 inning total the 2 seasons prior. They should have managed the innings better instead of riding him early. Not that crazy to think he pitches more innings than last year.

I still don't understand picking up the Kimbrel option over giving him the QO.

I'm not gonna cry over the fact that he is gone, but at least get yourself some compensation. If he takes it, then fine, you've got a huge upgrade over Velasquez.

They knew that they were letting him walk in May, so they decided to ride him as long as they could. They miscalculated.
