TLR should recognize this and he didn’t. That’s a sign of a manager that doesn’t know what the heck is doing.

He thought the new rule was relief pitchers have to finish the inning.  I blame Miguel Cairo....if he even actually exists.

Stone does a nice job. That was a perfect summary of the game if you are objectively speaking. No need to overreact, just listen to Stoney's ending again if you want the perfect summation of the loss.

Jose is a mess mentally at the plate and in the field. Wonder if he's bored for some reason. I still think he can hit; he just doesn't hit.

And can we be honest, no one knows how old he really is.

So can we all agree that this team doesn’t have “it”. I can’t think of one thing they do right as an all around “team”, some nice individual players/stats, but as an unit they fail miserably.

Other than TA BA and some strikeout numbers - which stats would those be?

I forgot about that. You are probably right questioning age on him, but he doesn't look that old in the face.

So what’s going on with the load management for Graveman these days?  Is it just a brilliant strategy by the amazing strength and conditioning team the Sox have?  It’s crazy that every game for about a week now the Sox have acted like the bullpen is in shambles health wise.

Graveman has pitched one time in a week. This team spent all this money on relievers, had ruiz and foster pitch great, and are throwing Connor banks in relatively high leverage spots. It's comical honeslty.

Graveman needs to be managed probably because he doesn't have a track record as a reliever. Kelly hasn't been a high leverage guy for a while.

How could all these bullpen guys be unavailable after a day off? The Sox realize they need to win games, right?

Well, fangraphs says Grandal is amazing.  But yes, the only identity this team currently has is they have to try to overcome a horrible manager.

Leaving Kelly in wasn't that bad.  He's getting paid a lot of money to perform in high leverage situations.  He should have been able to get out of that inning when the bases were loaded.  Once he (really, Abreu) failed and it was 9-7 he should have been pulled immediately.

Yeah a lot of that is on Kelly stinking up the joint, but then again he was LaRussa’s guy.

The screwed up bullpen management started with Rizzo. Kelly facing Judge, that’s his job and he flopped. Kelly facing Rizzo and Banks facing the righties is…inexplicable?

It’s like the second half of last year.  No urgency and just assuming way too much.

Please with this garbage.

Not garbage at all. It’s the same stuff Pujols dealt with.  Do I think he’s lying?  Not really....but would I ever blame any of these guys for lying to get a better deal?  Hell no

Three batters minimum unless they finish the inning.

When the Sox lose, it's easy to look at the roster and lineup and point to five or so guys who could easily be in the minors, not the majors. When the Sox win, some of these guys seem useful.

That's why it's best sometimes to just shut up and watch the game. For proper perspective, I'd listen to Stoney. He's not a homer like Jason. For instance, when Abreu screwed up on that big play and slept instead of throwing home right away, Stoney immediately pointed out the fail. Not many announcers will do that in this era. In his game summation, Stoney cited the walks of Kelly as being huge pointing out another goat of the game.

Buxton - career game! Naylor - record setting game! Stanton - All- star performance! Judge - Pads his MVP credentials!  LeMahieu...
And to think - the Sox get the Yankees six more time this month.

How many pitches can Kelly shake off in one inning? Gotta be a record.
Moncada's HR was fun.

Saving them for the post season! Just like last year since it worked out so well.

This has to rank in the all-time TLR (second Sox run) Top 3-5 for worst managing nights...anyone disagree?

Kelly walks freaking 4 of 5 hitters.

Doesn't bring Banks in (which it was a bit unfair to put him in that situation, Sousa's been there recently) for Rizzo.

Then has someone with a 90-92 mph BP fastball face two of the best hitters in the AL.

What the fuck was La Russa doing leaving Joe Kelly in to die?

Fuck this lifetime overrated manager. And fuck Reinsdorf

He should of pulled him here. But you're misplacing your anger. Joe Kelly is the one to blame here. Throw a damn strike dude.
