Snopek
The lack of deadline moves and keeping Menechino around feel similar to me in a silent white flag kind of way, with both decisions suggesting that the rest of this season is not a priority. Why invest more in this team when you don’t truly believe in it? Why make a hitting coach change now when you can “show accountability” by doing it after the season ends? Just trying to make sense of it all.
South Side Hit Men
Rick Hahn hired Menechino on October 10, 2019. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/white-sox-move-quickly-name-frank-menechino-new-hitting-coach Quote "On the one hand, you expect talented players to perform well on the big league level. On the other hand, you can't take things for granted and guys need instruction and adjustments and occasionally some good luck to help get them to fulfill their potential," general manager Rick Hahn said

JoeC
I was originally on board with the "fuck the home run" approach, thinking that it would be a way to kind of work on patience and working counts, in stark contrast to the free swinging live-or-die-by-the-longball philosophies that have plagued the team in the past. Essentially a diversification, if you will, from past years. I never thought it would be taken to THIS extent.
Chimpton
The fact that this thread has been running virtually all season and the batting results have not improved at all suggests the FO don't give a shit.

caulfield12
Thinking they were magically or luckily going to turn things around instead of adding at least one good (never mind left handed) hitter at the trade deadline seems like an unconditional surrender. Of course, the Guardians do the same, even trading away Leon and Alex Young to contenders, even the team right in front of them…they don’t really miss a beat. How can two managers make such a difference in a pennant race…when we’ve heard 2-3 games at most for the last twenty years or so in terms of managerial impact? KrankinSox
The same guy who saw Tim Anderson at the airport is now reporting that Frank Menechino was spotted with some of the boys at Admiral Theatre last night. Sounds like all of the guys were near the main stage making it rain with singles, not one of them went for a private dance. Just thought you all should know.
