I ask again, if he went:

5 WAR
3 WAR
4 WAR

in 3 straight seasons, is that incredibly inconsistent?

How do we know what he would have done over a full season?

Moncada had a 95 wRC+ in 2020. That is bad.

Current RS/RA AL Ranks

10. Mariners  -25

11.  A's/White Sox  -32

13.  Baltimore  -34

14.  Detroit  -50

15.  KC  -60

Meanwhile Sonny Gray has incredible movement on his breaking pitches.  Looks better than he has in a few years.

Um, That was fueled by his defense. Did you see his offensive numbers in 2020? While he was dealing with covid, and it's no joke he still had a bad year offensively even if he had a valid excuse.

He has a 122 wRC+ since the start of 2019. That is higher than Nolan Arenado and Kris Byrant over the same time span. Last season he was 3rd in the AL in OBP. In a down 2020, he was almost a league average hitter despite the fact it looked like he was about to pass out on the field

Also, we (rightfully) lament how bad the Sox are on defense all of the time, but then ignore the fact that Moncada is one of the few good defensive players on the roster. People shouldn't get to have it both ways, but for whatever reason with Moncada, they do.

Moncada was good offensively in 2019 and 2021. Those are the only good offensive years that he's had. This is year 6 with the Sox.

I think the Twins pitching development is getting a lot better. Ryan looks like a big win for them, Ober is solid, Duran looks incredible out of the pen, and they seem to be doing good stuff at the minor league level.

it's not ideal.

Padres are going to send them Lamet (who has been sent to the minors, but now Clevinger's hurt yet again) as well to make up for Paddack...

Two of the last 3 years he was very good, and his "bad" season was close to league average offensively, in a 2 month season, when he very clearly was negatively being affected by covid.

I don't understand using Yoan's early career struggles against him. That's not relevant at this point. No one was discounting TA the last few years because he couldn't hit early in his career.

This is fair.

I'm just pissed about the offensive performance this year.

He was actually pretty good offensively his rookie season until fading a bit late...quite similar to Beckham as a rookie.

It was the second seasons that were terribly disappointing.  Well, Gordon's entire career, but that's another story.

Not if we had three full games to put up those runs without Robert...with no reason to even pitch to Anderson anymore.

Haha told ya....stick around for some fun
