Texsox
Who is available? It seems like they would announce an interim manager. Looking at the current coaches Katz is about the only one having a good year, but he would be a long shot. Anyone managing in MiLB that could come up? Fired guys? ChiSox59
Jirschele would be my first choice. But It'd probably be McEwing.

Jirschele's just about the only route that makes sense. Would he be over his head? Maybe. But might he make logic based decisions? Hopefully more than Tony. Just throw an interim tag on him, if he isn't great, keep him on MLB staff in 2023 as a manager in training and do an actual hiring process for a competent manager from OUTSIDE the org. Tnetennba
We can't possibly do worse the rest of the year with McEwing as interim. Jirschele would be on my list, but I'd prefer a legit search from outside the org the way Hahn said he wanted to do before this nightmare was forced upon us. Chimpton
We could always organise a rota of SoxTalk posters as guest managers for the rest of the season.
ron883
Literally anybody. Ozzie is the easy choice if the org wants somebody with experience.

The biggest problem with this team is that we don't seem to use even the most basic analytics tools. Ozzie might actually make that worse. Just like the gamethreads....If the Sox lose it is then someone else's turn. Excellent idea.
JoeC
I'd take this kid. He's in his 40s now and has a good track record.
Snopek
Admittedly I don’t know a ton about him, but I’ve seen Eduardo Perez’s name come up in general managerial candidate talk. Seems like he embraces the modern game.

It's not hard at all. Just call your buddy from decades ago and there you go.

No, it's not yet their search is always a joke. Honestly, AJP says he's open to manage, is already collecting a paycheck from the team, and is a Sox legend. He's got the makings to be the next Sox manager (by Jerry's book).

They just look for a guy laying around who has a past connection to the White Sox and hire him. No others need apply. Why waste time with an interview? South Side Hit Men
If you fire Tony and allow Jerry and Hahn to select the replacement, it will most likely end in disaster. This was their best and brightest decisions since 2012: Ventura Ventura extension offer after four pathetic years and him losing the team (LaRoche, Sale, Eaton). Ricky hired the day after Ventura rejected the extension Ricky extended and then fired 60 games later Tony! Toni! Tone! You'll get AJ, Ozzie, some other Jerry crony and another cheap and or unqualified manager, and you'll still have the same incompetent Front Office. Best to let this dumpster fire burn completely. Perhaps it will take sub 70 win seasons. sub 10,000 attendance, sub 1.0 TV ratings before Jerry finally steps down like he did with the Bulls, and finally allow qualified outside professionals to run the team. Texsox
Looking within Jerry Narron Currently being paid as a major league instructor, former manager with Texas and Cincinnati around the turn of the century. greg775
Why even discuss this. Jerry is a zillionaire. Jerry regrets firing his pal decades ago. Jerry is not going to OK the firing of Tony LaRussa. Tony would have to resign. How can anybody believe Jerry would fire his friend again?? Not gonna happen.
