Drama free last 4 inning with Lambert, Kelly and Lopez combining for 4 IP, 2 hits , 0 R, 6 K

Vaughn 4/4 BB RBI ,RS

Top of the order really producing. Top 5 had 10 hits.

Pollock with 6 multi-hit games in a row.

Moncada getting better.

Honestly we should be .500 or clear of it by now. Squad is playing better and picking each other up. Injuries happen. Play through it and have the guys that are paid to produce produce more often than not and we'll be alright. Thing is the margin for error is getting smaller and smaller they squandered one chance to get a couple clear of .500 when they prolly should have -- can't let that happen many times going forward.

Let's hope this squad has a little swag now. I do think that teams go on hot streaks where the pressure is off each guy and it clicks. Thing is you gotta win most those periods in the season. Come on Sox.

Are Vaughn and Robert just singles hitters now or what

I don’t believe a single White Sox hitter is on pace to hit 20 HR this season.

20! It’s 2022…

Nice win again, you got to beat the horrendous teams and the Tigers are on fumes at this point.

Eloy's injury has given Vaughn (2 off games since May 14 when he returned from the IL) and Pollock (5 off games since Eloy's April 23 injury) a chance to play regularly, and they have taken advantage of it. Pollock could probably use a little more rest as the season progresses. Tony did a good job managing Vaughn's transition to MLB and LF last year, including  off days against tough RHP, but he should be playing regular at this point.

w RC+ 2021 & 2022

  • Pollock: 137 & 86
  • Vaughn: 94 & 133
  • Eloy: 101 & 66

Lowdown is Leury hitting 6 th. With a .213 OBP.  He is almost in the automatic out zone.

Bottom 8 out of 157 qualified hitters in OPS, all from the AL Central.

Plus Avi Garcia, 9th from the bottom, haha.

#157 Baez/Barfz, #156 Grandal, Schoop, N.Lopez, Candelario, Torkelson, Merrifield, #150 M.Straw

Ramirez #3, Buxton #12, Arraez #19, Abreu #43

Only 4 hitters in MLB Top 69 from Central

Good to see Cease gut out five innings without his best stuff.  Lambert did a really nice job covering two innings.  Nice to see Kelly back; he has nasty stuff.

Pollock is finally looking like the Pollock we thought we were getting.  He's locked in right now and is thriving in the leadoff spot.  Vaughn with four hits is awesome to see.  McGuire is doing a nice job as the primary catcher while Grandal is out.  And we can't say enough about Danny Mendick.  He is doing an outstanding job filling in for TA.

Another nice win against a bad team.  But that's what we need to do: Beat the crap out of the bad teams.  Let's sweep their asses today.
