White Sox have played just 5/38 (total season) home games against Central.

Just wow.

Won’t face Tigers again until July.

Any way we can face the Tigers for all of July??

93 is right there a notch below VV and right there with Giolito recently and Lynn last night…and just above Cueto.

Generally, that’s a FB speed that now gets you kilt in MLB.  Unless you have a ton of movement and pinpoint location.

Or face the Tigers.

Not really plenty of good pitchers can thrive with that speed but you have to keep the hitters off balance with your other pitches and move the fastball around, up, down, in and out, use it as a show me or K pitch off the plate.

He should catch 60% of the games at a minimum. The pitching has been far better with him behind the plate instead of Grandal.

Do you have a link that backs this up?  I've seen the stats earlier in the year, but have not seen it recently.  In any event, Grandal has not caught Kopech which certainly makes a big difference in the numbers.  Curious to see the other pitchers who have pitched a good deal to both.

Since someone brought up McGuire’s framing, I finally figured out why Grandal has rated so highly in framing over the years. It’s because he calls so many damn fastballs, especially with runners on base. Much easier to frame fastballs than offspeed pitches.
