Maybe that batting stance was designed to make him a better 2 strike hitter and lay off stuff outside because it looks so far away. But if that was the reason for it it may have made him hit for a batter average but zapped his power. The Menchino way because it probably helped him stay in the league but it's useless when dealing with bigger stronger more talented players.

Would much rather he strike out more but hit the ball out of the park more often than what we see now
