I would trade Sheets but Vaughn has more value. Yes let’s trade away one of our best hitters who happens to be young.

Than what should they do than? Let Abreu walk and DFA or trade Sheets or keep him in the minors as a backup? Sheets wouldn’t even be on the team if Hahn hadn’t failed miserably to address a LH hitting player in the off season.

Like I said, I would rather they trade Sheets but that may not happen because he’s terrible so DFA him. See Palka/Delmonico/Alonso/Eaton/Mazara. Rinse/repeat.
Quin
Abreu at 3.5 fWAR is the 3rd most valuable first baseman in the MLB (behind Freeman and Goldschmidt), most valuable in the AL.

Harry Chappas
Sheets can use the time in the minors and that would be the case next year if a legitimate LHH RF is found and then Vaughan and Abreu rotate at 1B.

Fingers crossed that Colas keeps hitting like a mad man, cause we know that's the route the org would take.
South Side Hit Men
The Sox have six legitimate Major League hitters a team would want on their roster Circa August 2022: Abreu, Anderson, Jimenez, Moncada, Robert, Vaughn. You either keep these six and find actual starting C, 2B and RF and play for 2023-2024, or you hire a competent GM to sell off what you can and target 2025-2026 as the first legitimate “multi-championship window” season since 2005.
