7/15 Sox @ Twinkies 7:10PM Can we get to .500????

Garcia and Pollock are killing this team with their total lack of production on offense.

You don't have a lot of choice with Pollock but with Garcia you have to start limiting his AB's. He is playing way too much for as awful as he is at the plate.

Did Luis Robert have covid? Isn't one of the lingering long haul symptoms dizziness?

He had it earlier this year and talked about its effects in an Athletic article.

A case of COVID-19 forced Robert to miss 10 days at the end of May. He returned effective enough but has been a singles hitter in the middle of a batting order already lacking power. He went homerless in the first 17 games afterward and acknowledged he lacked the same energy he had before he got sick.

An entire roster built out of guys who are best suited for 1B or DH and they don't hit for any power or draw walks. Way to go, Rick Hahn

Right now, you have really only Abreu or Vaughn that you think can hit a homer.

This has to be the worst conditioned team in the history of baseball. If Herm Snyder was still around we wouldn’t be in this condition.

Tell me how many games we’ve had Robert and Jimenez in the same lineup for an entire game?

snakebit is maybe the biggest understatement of the year

Herm Schneider had nothing to do with their conditioning. He was the athletic trainer.  He took care of them after injuries.

Strength and conditioning staff is responsible for conditioning.

That was a great slider and Buxton laid off. Sometimes you have to wonder if the hitters know it's coming.

I'm not smart enough to identify ideal slider "shape" from statcast data, but I know people that can have said it doesn't have good characteristics this year

That's the thing.  You would think a team comprised of so many 1B/DH types would suck on defense but would be mashing at the plate, just like the '77 South Side Hitmen.  But this team sorely lacks power.

So the Sox should write Allen Thomas a blank check to return as a strength & conditioning coach, then? The Sox had like a 20 year run where they were always amongst the best teams in terms of IL days lost, fewest soft tissue injuries, etc

His slider had problems last year too, especially in the 2nd half. Remember when Cleveland basically didn't swing at his slider in that game they got 7 runs off Kopech last year?
