COVID?

No, actually it made me think about in college my best friend came to visit me at SIU to go see a show, and halfway through the night he started acting like way overserved and we took him home.  Turns out he barely had anything to drink and the virus just started kicking his ass halfway through the show.  Took him like two weeks to recover and then it was gone.  It was just wild how it showed up out of nowhere like that.

i hope he doesn’t have covid

Saw he isn’t playing again… what in the fucking fuck?

They hope that he can DH on Thursday and play CF on Friday, but it still remains confusing.

They are consistently playing a man down again and again this year. There are some limits to how often guys can move up and down, but they've moved guys up and down for short stints before and they could be churning their 40 man roster more if that was a major issue.

I said this in the game thread - I've never once seen a team keep so many people active when they can't play. A couple times a year sure, but it seems like it's been 1/3 of the games for this team this year have had someone inactive who eventually winds up on the IL. It's completely bizarre and inexplicable.

What’s also bizarre is the timeline:

  • 7/15 - Robert plays his latest Sox game.
  • 7/22 - Placed on 10 Day IL, retroactive to 7/19 (post ASB)
  • 7/28 - Robert flies to Charlotte to start a rehab assignment.
  • 7/28 - Goes 1 for 5 w 2 K as DH in Charlotte.
  • 7/29-7/30 Too sick to play.
  • 7/31 - Returns to Chicago, hangs out with team in clubhouse.
  • 8/1 - Remains out sick
  • 8/2 - Activated, does not play.
  • 8/3 - Fathom reports Robert off today (Wed) because it’s his birthday.
  • 8/3 - James Fegan reports Tony stated Robert is expected to play DH 8/4, and CF 8/5, without ever playing CF during rehab or since 7/15 issues.
