Fire Rick Hahn

It’s amazing how much this organization is held hostage by Jerry.  Under no circumstance should Rick Hahn still be calling the shots.  How many years of terrible decision-making and underperformance are allowed before we finally make a change?  And why is KW still technically around as our head of baseball operations?  What the f*** does he do other than make sure the pro-nepotism ways of this organization’s past carry forward?  And don’t get me started on the international man of mystery Jeremy Haber, whose next accomplishment would almost certainly be his first.  These clowns should all be long gone and yet here they are still making baffling decisions because old man Jerry plans to die with this franchise to ensure that his children inherit the most cash possible and doesn’t want to stir s%*# up too much in the meantime.  Until then, we will all suffer through the last dying days of this competitive window and then get the pleasure of watching Rick sell off a few pieces before attempting another half-assed go for it strategy.  We deserve so much better than bullshit, but Sox fans will continue to suffer until the reign of Jerry comes to an end.

At this point, I'm willing to turn everything over to Paddy and just throw everything into international.

You can also bet I would throw money at extensive scouting in Taiwan, Korea and Japan as well.

Our DR pipeline that was ruptured by KW/Wilder has never been put back together after well over a decade.  Time to actually fix that situation once and for all if they want to be a viable franchise moving forward, because the vaunted Cuban Connection is finally drying out.

Hahn recently said that he knew the "Sox haven't proved anything."

Actually they have...they proved that with an incompetent, dysfunctional and inept front office you can completely flush a rebuild and a "window of contention" right down the toilet.

Perhaps I should write JR another letter requesting a interview for the GM job.

Nothing to lose but time/opportunity cost.

I really believe I would have been better off being the owner of the team as opposed to being the GM. I didn't have the money years ago to buy the team and I certainly don't have the money now. Its really a shame that I never owned the White Sox. I think I would have been a great owner.

JR didn't have the money either, he just cobbled together a bunch of other rich people as a vanity project

Rick Hahn Quote of the Day:

(On the latest Yoan Moncada injury) “But we are optimistic we’ll be able to knock this thing out of him. Then all his problems will be behind him.”

Until he fouls a ball off his foot a week later and acts like it needs to be amputated or tweeks a leg muscle trying to run to first or catch a pop up. ?

Significant drops in attendance finally forced Jerry and kid to finally make changes with the Bulls.

Weather was terrible, but 13,794 paid attendance looks like a substantial drop (22.5%) in the weekend season ticket base from last year. Lowest announced paid weekend attendance in 2022 was Sunday April 17 vs. TB (17,798).

Keep up the good work Sox fans, stay at home, wait for new ownership and management before spending a penny on this franchise. Go to a Chicago parade Rick Hahn will never provide.

Opening Day Attendance - Rick Hahn Era:

Opening Day Attendance / Total Attendance (Year & Final Record)

  1. 39,012 1.768M (2013 63-99 .389)
  2. 38,533 1.756M (2015 76-86 .469)
  3. 38,019 1.746M (2016 78-84 .481)
  4. 37,432 1.651M (2014 73-89 .451)
  5. 36,948 2.009M (2022 81-81 .500)
  6. 36,534 1.629M (2017 67-95 .414) - Tanking

I imagine the wheels are in motion to cancel Soxfest this offseason.

They've got MUCH bigger problems than that to deal with for the moment... the media is already turning on the team and giving up hope just two weeks into the season.

And the truly challenging part of the schedule hasn't even arrived.

Solid bump/jump from 1.6 to 2 million 2021 to 2022.  Result of two disappointing playoff appearances but at least they made the postseason as promised.

Will now see a fall to as low as 1.4 to 1.6 million this year if the wheels totally fall off.

Fans treated terribly this entire offseason.

All i ask for is the team to be competitive, win 85-95 games year in year out. Why is this so hard? Why did I choose the Sox? It will take YEARS for Jerry to finally croak and then its an absolute crapshoot as far as new ownership. We could get a Nutting on our hands.

Hahn needs to be fired, but its not going to change a thing. Getz is next in line, the loser who failed as a player and oversees one of the worst farm systems in the game.

Haber or Getz two most likely... no strong or compelling arguments for either.

All of this is correct. “Hope” is pretty much at an all-time low.

As I’ve said multiple times before, Hahn and his front office are a huge problem. I do believe that the “right” person could work and be successful under the limitations JR puts on his FO. But as you mentioned, even if Hahn and the FO is gutted, why should we have any faith that JR would bring in the “right” person?

Everything needs to change, starting with the Owner, but that’s also a total crap shoot.

Put another way, it absolutely sucks being a White Sox fan.

I'm shocked. I must have missed that quote with all of his fan blaming again. My favorite was it's the fans/media's fault the trade for Joc fell through.

You're right about we haven't seen the toughest teams yet. After this 3 game series against Philadelphia, then the Sox have two road series in a row. The first one is at Tampa Bay 10-2, best record in ML and then Toronto 10-6, second best record in the AL. The the Sox come home to face Tampa Bay again for 4 more.

With the way the bullpen is imploding most games and the way we continue to be poor disciplined hitters, this record could become really ugly after the second Tampa Bay series for 4 games.

You're right they might be in line, however both of them or anyone else in the Sox organization, would be just as bad if not worse. This is why when Hahn is fired, which might not be for awhile, it should be officially the time to clean house and go get their next GM from the outside and from a really consistent winning organization. I know the pathetic Jerry Reinsdorf is too arrogant, stubborn and stupid to make that decision on his own, but I'm hoping and praying maybe his son Michael or his other successful son Johnathon, could help him see that wisdom and logic. Then again, maybe Jerry will keep on being the inept loser that he is and listen to nobody.
