7/26: Sox @ Rockies 7:40 CST….Is now the time to get over that .500 Mountain Top

This isn't a Carlos Rodon game thread, but he averaged 96 on his fastball tonight. He still got a ridiculous number of whiffs on it. Even aces have bad starts. There is no way to ever spin not offering him the qualifying offer or matching what the Giants gave him as a good decision.

Joe Kelly what a signing.

He had a great year in 2021.   But other than that, there may be 1 season where he had good enough numbers to be a 7th-9th inning guy.  He received quite the payday for a great 2021.

Yep people always talking about him getting injured or fading down the stretch which may or may not be true this year. But people discount how pitching well during the regular season keeps you in  games and helps you win during the season. More wins this season would be a good thing . He's still a likely 5 WAR pitcher. How many of those do we have anyway?

He of course is having a great year, but if you take a step back, Cueto has contributed as much as he would have in that spot (so far).  This isn’t excusing them from not doing the QO.

SUre but the only reason the Sox got Cueto was because Lynn got hurt. Hahn preferred VV to him and probably passed on Martin Perez too because he was $1M more than V V.
