That last hit by Iglesias was on a 91 MPH fastball. Honestly Lucas has been a bit unlucky in his last 2 starts, but a lot of that is the product of the other teams just poking hits against him on his change up. His fastball isn't good enough to make them respect it so they end up sitting on his best pitch.

Yep and his breaking pitch isn’t sharp enough. He looks cooked this year.

They had a chance to set up the rotation to avoid having Gio pitch in Colorado and didn't do it. Another failure by our drunk ass manager.

Giolito is one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year. The TLR delusion is ridiculous.

If we are trying to hide Giolito in the rotation, then there's no point in the rest of this season.

How about Giolito just be better?

His fastball isn’t much different from last year in terms of xwOBA…it’s his slider & change-up that are way worse.

With him the fastball has kind of been a show me pitch, especially after the sticky ban. With less to show due to lower velo, teams don't think he'll throw it later in the count and just sit on his off-speed pitches. His control on it has also been incredibly inconsistent this year.

Give him a chance to get better by having his next start against Oakland instead of at Colorado

Easier to blame Tony and pretend that everything gets better. How about bringing in a better pitching coach for him?
