reiks12
only score 1 run. The story of the Menechino era. The pattern has been obvious since the embarrassing 2021 ALDS where we became the laughingstock of the MLB. Why are they doubling down on this philosophy? ENOUGH!!!!!!!!
maxjusttyped
The entire organization is convinced that selling out for contact and hitting the ball to all fields is what translates to success. It doesn't work without a juiced ball. They have the 4th highest team batting average in baseball yet the offense can't score runs.
Snopek
“In 2022, at home, the Sox are 26th in OPS at .669, 24th in slugging at .369, 24th in wRC+ at 92, 19th in batting average at .241 and 21st in BABIP at .281. Meanwhile, on the road, the Sox are ninth in OPS at .723, 11th in slugging at .402, sixth in wRC+ at 106, first in batting average at .272 and first in BABIP at .330.” When TLR was asked about the home/road difference: “Man, we have worked that forward, backward, sideways,” La Russa said. “I take the easy way out because I take what makes sense: Let’s wait till the season’s over to see where we are in the last 30-something games, whatever we’ve got at home. Because it doesn’t make sense. We’ve looked at everything, process. But so far, it’s been a mystery, man. It’s crazy.” 1

Tnetennba
Menechino is only being retained to be the fall guy at the end of the year, I’m convinced of it. Hahn can’t fire TLR and won’t risk any blowback for his own awful work but axing coaches now. So we wait, watching the same bullshit groundball approach fail over and over and over again, as if doing nothing to change what is broken will magically solve itself.

One answer only, the worst owner in baseball is still in charge! 9 groundball outs. Even many of the hits were grounders! Way to get that lift in this home run era! 9 K's - They have no plate discipline and are constantly chasing pitches outside the zone. 1 walk! This was against a Royals team that was 22 games under .500. There is not another team in baseball who's owner would not have fired Menechino by now!
ScootsMcGoots
I thought the title of this thread was referring to Grandal's offensive line for the season
