GT 8/4: Perhaps the laws of physics cease to exist during your windup?

Putting the word "cease" into a game thread on days when Cease is not pitching is somewhat confusing.

True, but perhaps very much needed for our mental state, because Cease is one of the truly great things to feel good about during this miserably underachieving season.

Why can't we try this?

Robert-Vaughn-Jimenez-Abreu-Moncada-Pollock-Harrison-Seby-Anderson

I know it won't happen but this is then what it should be

Anderson-Vaughn-Jimenez-Abreu-Robert-Pollock-Moncada-Seby-Harrison

I'm sure Grandal and Garcia will wedge their way in but v RHP they should not.

I don't think there is a really easy win for the White Sox.  Their offense can go into a slumber against anyone no matter who is pitching for them. They should win, but that doesn't mean they will, and if they do, it won't be easy.

Exactly!!!

TA has 120 wRC+ this season.  He's been frustrating with runners on this year (even more reason to keep him at lead-off), but batting him 9th is bat shit crazy.

Pretty much everyone thought we'd lose to Singer yesterday and we won. Now everyone thinks we'll win this one on the pitching matchup which will probably mean we'll somehow lose.

Lol, so true. I had several posters question my betting the White Sox against Singer yesterday. Shows that you never truly know how the game will turn out. That said, I'm riding Chicago once again in what looks like a good bet. Of course when it comes to gambling my track record is pretty dismal.

To be fair, we've been told explicitly by a brilliant baseball mind that you should place a strong batter in the 9-hole.

Look, putting Cease in this thread title is intentionally misleading and I for one will not stand for it.  I’m not gonna make you change it because that will make my superstitious sense go off the charts…but I don’t like it.

IIRC his iso dipped below .100 yesterday. This season hasn't been good enough from Anderson

I may run out of clever game thread titles before we get to 19 in a row.

Oh I definitely agree.  He's been mostly bad since returning from the groin injury.  He also looks very.....distracted.
