Like so many of this current group of players he seems to be injured every season.

This isn’t remotely true. He has only missed a portion of the owner 60 game lockout season entering this year, since being called up for good as a 24 year old (2018).

If anything, he may have been pushed too hard through 2019.

Minor / Fall and MLB appearances

  • 2017 58 Games
  • 2018 68 Games
  • 2019 63 Games
  • 2020 9 Games (60 Game Season)
  • 2021 62 Games
  • 2022 20 Games

I don't have a complete search since I honestly don't know where to find it, but this is what I've found out of the Sox media guide including this season in his biographical section:

2015 - Minor leagues (missed entire year/elbow surgery)

2016- Minor leagues (on DL from June until 7/19)

2020- Bicep strain (on DL 8/8 to 9/24)

2021- Hamstring strain (on DL from 6/28 to 7/15)

2022- Knee strain (on DL from 5/7 to 5/22)

2022- Lat strain (on DL from 6/12 to ?????)

I don’t have a database that amalgamates years across minor/Fall and Major league games, but would wager he was in the top 5-10% in relief appearances across “professional baseball” between 2017-2021.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=bummer000aar

He pitched in 62 games last year, really can’t expect much more than that over a season despite the 17 day IL stint across 162 games. He finished tied for 68th in appearances across The MLB.

One substantial injury (2020) over five seasons entering 2022 doesn’t constitute a player “injured every season”.

It’s true.  Last year he was on the IL from May through July, 2020 he missed the rest of the season after put on IL August 8, and this year has missed almost all season.  I couldn’t find 2019 or 2018 injury history but I remember him being ouchy then as well.  He is totally injury prone

It’s three years in a row.  Wash it however you want he is injury prone and always has been

Liam is the only member of the White Sox with more appearances between 2017-2021. There are no more than a few dozen MLB pitchers with more appearances over the prior five seasons.

Calling his track record between 2017-2021 as “injury prone” or “being ouchy” is a ludicrous take. Nearly every relief pitcher in The MLB would be considered “ouchy and injury prone” if appearing in an average of 60 games a 162 game season is considered below / substantially below expectations for pitcher availability.

I called 2020-2022 as injury prone, and it was pointed out in the thread that he had season ending injuries in 16 and 15, so it’s pretty funny that you are like “HE WAS HEALTHY IN 2017-2021” even though he wasn’t even close to healthy in 2 of those 4 years

but you do you.

No, both Lip and you said he always has been injury prone.

Three years in a row is injury prone.  Five years out of eight is injury prone.  Bummer is injury prone.
