caulfield12
A little self-confidence can go a long way -- or so said the White Sox first baseman. “If we truly believe we can do it, then we’ll do it. It’s just a matter for us to believe it,” said Abreu through interpreter Billy Russo. “We have been dealing with a lot of injuries and other stuff, but that’s baseball. “We just have to believe that we’re able to do that, that we’re able to get into that really good stretch and compete. But we have to believe in ourselves.” That push to believe from the team leader, expressed previously to his teammates, was followed by a 10-5 loss to Arizona, marking the third straight setback for the White Sox. It dropped them below .500 at 63-64and left them at 2-8 over the last 10 games. Scott Merkin/mlb.com
Chimpton
Hard to make a team believe, especially with a manager like TLR. The team clearly hasn't had any belief all season hence the .500 mediocrity of the team. Injuries etc are used as an excuse by teams like this that are mentally weak, a stronger team would at least look like they were fighting, this bunch just look for the next excuse. The Kids Can Play
Ok Jose, it's admirable on your part to be positive and believe your team can still make the playoffs. However maybe before using your heart to convince the team, maybe you should cover these facts for the remainder of the season and face reality: The Guardians are 67-58 to your Sox team at 63-64. You are 6 games back in the loss column with 35 games to go, to Guardians 37 games remaining. The Guardians can now actually play under 500 and finish 18-19 to finish at 85-77. Your team would then need to then finish at 23-12 to finish 86-76. That would mean playing at a .657 clip! Unfortunately your team hasn't played anywhere near this winning clip all year. The fact is, only one team (Dodgers) currently this year has a winning percentage of better than .657 with their current .696 winning percentage. On the other hand, if the Guardians just continue at there present winning %, they would finish 87-75. Thus your team would need to finish 25-10 or .714. As Liam Neeson said, "Good Luck!" southsider2k5
It's almost as if this team lacks an effective manager to get them in the right mindset.

Obviously not, but if a team doesn't have confidence in itself, I can't see how it can have true success. On several occasions, it appeared the Sox had turned a corner and were ready to make a run. Somehow, it hasn't happened. It really hasn't made sense. The Sox have their problems, but they should have a better record than this. That loss in Baltimore was crushing, and I fear that ended the team's season. We're marking 130 games today and nothing has demonstrated that this team believes in itself. South Side Hit Men
The 2017 OD Tanking Lineup was far superior to the lineups vs. Arizona, and better at LF, 3B, RF and C than the 2022 White Sox. 2B Tyler Saladino (Downgrade) SS Tim Anderson LF Melky Cabrera (Upgrade) 1B Jose Abreu 3B Todd Frazier (Upgrade) DH Cody Asche (Downgrade) RF Avisail Garcia (Upgrade) C Omar Narvaez (Upgrade) CF Jacob May (Downgrade) Edited August 28, 2022 by South Side Hit Men
Quin
Abreu might legit be a better manager (in a player-manager capacity) than Tony if you have him a legit bench coach

VAfan
Here's my list of the Sox players who have done their jobs this year. 1. Dylan Cease 2. Johnny Cueto 3. Jose Abreu 4. Andrew Vaughn 5. Kendall Graveman 6. Jimmy Lambert 7. Reynaldo Lopez It's not much to build around for next year, especially since Abreu and Cueto are free agents. JPR
Poor guy isn’t much of a vocal leader. That’s something you say before the season is lost or right after the deadline and Hahn makes basically bottom of the barrel moves. It’s time to let Abreu walk. Start sheets or Vaughn at 1B next season. I can build an under .500 team less than it will cost to re-sign him. Sure, some attached homers who never left the south side will want to go down with the old sinking ship but it’s time to let him move on. It’s Vaughn and Sheets time!!

Texsox
What does he know? Abreu is an idiot blaming injuries. It's TLR, It's Hahn, it's JR. End of story. Injuries weren't a problem.
