Tnetennba
Lynn vs Gonzalez M’s are red hot having won 7 straight and are 9-1 in their last 10, but our Sox are on a roll with a new found sense of energy and fun. A new streak starts tonight. Lets do this! Edited September 5, 2022 by Tnetennba 3
The Kids Can Play
Lynn pitched great the last time out and actually very solid the last four outings and could have been 4-0 with any run support. He has given up 5 ER's in his last 24.2 innings in those 4 starts or 1.86. The offense fell asleep yesterday and they need to wake up and score runs like they did in the prior 5 games. Most importantly Cairo needs to be smarter and not make so many dumb lineup moves or bullpen mistakes.
he gone.
Andrus, while hot, has awful numbers against Marco. I'd put Romy at SS and Harrison at 2b. Elvis batting .158 over 38AB's. Have a feeling this game will be pretty low scoring. 3-2 type final. They're going to have to rely on Marco a bit today as they used their bullpen for 1ip at a time yesterday night. Both teams had to travel late to west coast for this game. I'd guess that Mariners didn't get to their actual homes until like 3-4am. Let's hope we win this first one to keep momentum. We've got Gilbert and Luis Castillo ahead ... we can definitely split those, but makes this first game very important. You lose tonight and split the next two and you're losers of 3 of 4 after your nice momentum. Game 1 here is likely the most winnable and we need to show urgency here and play our best game of the series.
flavum
Sox landed in Seattle at 8:31pm PT Mariners landed in Seattle at 2:11am PT Advantage Sox in that respect.

That's 10:31 central for the Sox, nothing bad for them on their clock. That's 5:11 eastern time, so if they didn't get any sleep on the flight(if they did minimal and uncomfortable), whatever time they awoke in Cleveland they would've landed back home around 5 am on that clock. Not to mention what time they got home...6 am/ 7am? It's a good thing they play a night game, but I would expect some tired players tonight. whitesoxwin
Hopefully the loss yesterday to the Twins was just a temporary setback and the White Sox come out firing on all cylinders against Seattle.
flavum
Twins in NY for four should be what the doctor ordered for the Yankees. 2-2 in the 5th.
South Side Hit Men
The money games are September 15-29 against the division. That said, would be nice to get a W against a LH Starter, and Luis Robert back on the field and AJ Pollock off the field (74 plate appearances away from $2M more dollars, 24 away from $1M more). Only Abreu has played more, though he is a big positive when he plays (3.4 bWAR vs. 0.6 Pollock bWAR). If they can take 4 + this week, it will be gravy considering they typically struggle on the West Coast.

Yankees are tied with Oakland as the fifth worst team in baseball in August and September (11-20). Colorado (11-21), Detroit (10-21), Pittsburgh (9-22) and Miami (8-23) have been worse. The Yankees would be happy with a split at this point.

Ducksnort
After a few days away from life and the Sox, and seeing the first two games of that MN series were quite entertaining, and with the Sox still very much in this race, I'm ready to sit back relax and strap this s%*# down! whitesoxwin
I would be surprised to see the White Sox get swept simply because I believe they are finally coming together as a team. With TLR on the sidelines, this team seems to have refocused and pulled together in a much more positive way than before. Only time will tell but things are looking much better then a week ago.
