Holmes writes "JR owes fans..."

The Detroit Tigers might be in that business, though.

They have traded or let go five Cy Young winners now in the last decade plus.

Verlander, Scherzer, David Price, Rick Porcello…

Robbie Ray was by far the toughest one to remember.

(2014) Traded from Tigers to Diamondbacks in 3-team trade involving Didi Gregorius, Shane Greene and Domingo Leyba

Holmes is right and JR does owe the fans an apology and own up to his colossal mistake. However what should happen in theory vs what will happen in reality are two complete opposite ends of the situation.

The problem has always been and still remains the fact, he is the most ignorant, demented and arrogant owner in baseball...who quite frankly doesn't have the baseball credentials to be so damn arrogant, uncaring and unapologetic. Yet sadly, this is the pathetic reality of this POS owner we are stuck with, until the bastard passes away and the team is sold.

TLR was one really bad decision in a long string of really bad decisions that have led to this $190m fringe contender of a roster. As the owner, what he owes fans most is to hold his staff responsible for their failures and to stop treating the organization as some sort of dust bowl-era family farm business that you’re born into and can never be fired from.

His baseball operations/player development/scouting corp, from top to bottom, is simply not a competitive group. It’s inexcusable that it hasn’t been overhauled/replaced at this point. It’s insane.

did you see the Hahn press conference the other day? He is in no way worried about job security. In fact, he threw out there, if he didn't think he was the right person for the job he would walk away, basically saying that's the only way he will ever leave. Any way you look at it, how could he possibly conclude he is the right person for the job.

want change? stop going to games and don't renew your ST

As I've posted in the past, it's a nice thought and would make an impact but not as much as you think with money pouring in from the international and domestic revenue streams. Ticket sales don't mean as much anymore as say TV contracts to cite one example.

This isn't 1965 anymore.

I'm still debating of stop being a fan.  There was a lot of drama this season that the Sox dominated a lot of local media attention.  Who knows what will happen in a few season that obituaries get more attention.

I too think I'm the right person for the job.

Hoping and praying and wishing.

I actually just want you in there because we know the code....whenever you call someone pal they are about to be traded or fired.

Can’t do that if you’ve undermined their decision-making abilities every step of the way like hiring an incompetent manager and allowing that manager to make personnel decisions like roster construction.
