It's like a thing with Preller trades. Hader was great at the end after figuring things out. Drury was fine for a $300,000 acquisition. Bell was Adam Frazier, 2021 version. (Compare to Leury Garcia.) But after watching Soto for two months now, just no way they will end up giving him a massive contract extension as well. But also no way they make the playoffs without Soto. Period. Also, can't imagine this pen with Brash and Munoz that were traded to the Mariners. Would top 2014-15 KC. maxjusttyped
There are so many obvious names on both teams the Sox should have acquired, but Kim & Nick Martinez are guys who would have provided them with badly needed depth and by all accounts they weren't interested at all. Grisham was sitting quite a bit for them in September. I think there may have been a window to buy low on him this off-season but that's gone now. Profar would have been a fine acquisition because he can play everywhere on the field... but especially LF and 2B.
Balta1701
If the Padres announcers are accurate, Hader had never thrown a pitch clocked at 100 before the playoffs this year. He’s now thrown 7, at least 3 tonight.

caulfield12
At least it's an interesting series now. 3/26 if losing first two at home, 85 Royals, 86 Mets, 96 Yankees vs. Braves the exceptions. Snell will go down as one of the heroes of the last couple of months. Arguably their best pitcher when Musgrove was fading. maxjusttyped
So many big free agent deals + trades on both of these teams worked out well, but oh boy, does Castellanos look terrible.

caulfield12
Padres quite fortunate to still be in this one. Almost had a Gaffe-anino series-turning moment. Edited October 22, 2022 by caulfield12
