Just from an on field perspective, both guys are more appealing than Rodon 2 years ago or Cueto last year. There's enough of a track record where if Katz signs off on them, that's good enough for me

Are we sure Cueto's success can be attributed to Katz? Seems like he just finally got healthy this year.

Who is going to give Manaea a long term deal after his stuff degraded later in the season?

I don't think he's dissimilar from pitchers like Kikuchi, Alex Wood, Matz, Alex Cobb etc who all signed multi year deals last off-season. ~3/36M doesn't strike me as unreasonable for him at all.

There really is no better feeling in sports than your team winning in the postseason when you didn't expect them to. I'm glad I got to experience it in 05 and it seems like there's always one team doing that every postseason. This Phillies team, last year's Braves, 2019 Nationals, etc.

The lack of a serious pursuit of him is definitely a defining moment of the rebuild. Just terrible.

They wouldn’t have signed Eaton or traded for Pollock. That right their makes Harpers cost go down. They are so afraid of good players. Bryce Harper would have done so much more than help them win games. They wouldn’t be the forgotten team anymore nationally let alone locally. Always think small seems to be their motto,

Same with Machado.

Moncada won 2019, but those three non-moves pinned the rebuild largely on the success of Yoan, Robert and Jimenez.

Fwiw, Machado has a legit case for ML MVP.
