Thoughts on McCann and Mauricio for Hendriks?

If it’s only 1 prospect coming back it has to be either Alvarez or Parada. The combo of power and ability to play middle infield is obviously intriguing with Mauricio, but no way we should be trading Hendricks for a prospect that refuses to walk and has a questionable hit tool.

It’s terrifying to think of McCann or EE as main piece.

Yea. I really only like the Mets prospects. Sign me up for Parada. Also really like Jett Williams.

But neither of those really help the big league club so it wouldn't make sense unless the goal is to merely shed payroll.

But at the same time - why would the Mets give up a young or controlled player that they think has a strong chance of contributing to their big league club this year? They sure wouldn't want to, that would be costly for them.

Because they need to unload McCann, and if they bring in a better fit for them, it’s a win-win.

Meh. Still don't like McCann or Escobar in any trade involving Hendrick.

I know it seems like an opportunity to upgrade the current Sox lineup ,but those guys are excess baggage for the Mets and not true upgrades for the Sox. Seems like either one is the veteran purchase you pay too much for that usually doesn't work out for Hahn.

If Hendricks is going to go, rape the Mets of 2 of their best prospects Baty and Parada and take McCann with those 2 Or if you rather have pitching instead of Parada ,Dominic Hamel if you think the Mets would never part with Baty and Parada and McCann.

They could certainly just buy out McCann if they had to get him off the roster. So there is benefit for them in sending McCann out, but if it makes their roster this year notably worse to get rid of him because they have to send out such a valuable prospect, they won't do it.

Who is the Sox closer if they trade Hendricks?

Between Graveman, Lopez, Kelly, and Bummer we have plenty of options to close games if needed.

If the Sox are really trading Liam, its to lower the payroll so I wouldn't be expecting them to take back highly paid players. There's no reason to trade him unless it was to reduce payroll.

Hendriks would be way more valuable to the Mets this year than any of their prospects.

They're spending like crazy . Their goal is a World Series and they are building a super team. If they want our high quality player to build that super team and for us to take out their trash too then pay up in prospect capital or inquire elsewhere.

JR won't being helping Cohen unless it's a clear Sox win.If that means no trade, so be it.

Lots of the off season left to see who gives you a clear win in a trade for Hendriks from a team with a World Championship as it's goal.
