Beni is a solid player but unspectacular player.  Better than the scrap heap bargain basement pickup we've been conditioned to expect though.  He isn't an exciting impact signing that healthy orgs trying to win chase after so it is hard to get overly excited by the potential signing.

If he can stay out of the nets he is qualified.

People are making him sound like he’s Podsednik at the plate. No reason to think he can’t hit 15-20 homers.  Our lefty hitters have been so bad, but GRF is paradise for a lefty.

Not calling him Podsednik whatsoever but for a team whose leading HR hitter only hit 17 on the year and then in the offseason stress the need for the long ball, this just doesn’t really get me all excited for these rumored dollar amounts is all

I could live with Sosa at 2B, but do feel like you need a LH veteran IF added to the mix as insurance.  Would still prefer something bold.

Gotta at least add someone serviceable who starts out as the strong side of a platoon. Expecting Sosa to be an every day player against RHP would be insanity.

Wish Profar has played more IF lately.  Honestly, just really liked the Frazier fit.

Drury is another guy we could play in the IF and OF, but another RHH.

Didn't hate seeing Jorge Mateo's name thrown about on twitter yesterday. Can't hit much, but he can field and is fast AF.  Doubt O's in a hurry to move him tho.

Βetter trade grandal id say

Grandal has significant negative value.  If you're paying him (say) $15M regardless (assuming most relief you could get is a few million), you may as well roster him and hope he pops back to 75% of the player he was prior to 2022.  If he does, you instantly have have a 5 catcher offensively in the game.  Dumping Grandal makes zero sense.

Yeah, no one is taking that contract.

Nice.

I'm mystified that we can't afford anything one minute but somehow are prolly gonna shell out 4/70 or something in that area the next second. Either they have something lined up already to shed payroll or someone persuaded JR to ease up a bit.

We know KW loved this kid going back to the draft and PG prolly also gave him a stamp of approval I assume from KC.

His stats vs ALC are very good.
