Fine for the Braves, but that's the BEST, ultimate example of success.  Out of 30 teams.  2% growth isn't even keeping up with inflation.

Certainly going to see a lot more than 2% growth in the average MLB contract for players in arbitration and FA in terms of a year on year comparison.

Actually 2% growth is keeping up with inflation now.

Where does that article say the Braves had the best growth in the league?

Basically they are back down to around $60 million and looking to trade all their big names (Gray Helsley Arenado and even Fedde) to go back into "retooling/retrenching" mode for 1-2 seasons.

Still one of the most loyal fanbases in the sport, though.

There has to be a lot of frustration with the stranglehold the even smaller market Brewers have on the division.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos rumored to be willing to spend up to $6 billion for the Boston Celtics...which would simultaneously blow up the expansion fees for the next NBA move down the line.

It's probably more like Bezos is willing to put together a syndicate of people willing to back a portion of the bank loans to buy the team. Doesn't the NBA show VC firms as well?

"They want the $6 billion because they want expansion teams in Seattle and Vegas, and Mexico City is kind of looming as a third team. But they want to get $6 billion apiece for two franchises for expansion, which would mean a check of $400 million to every NBA owner, all 30. So they're trying to establish a price for this Celtics team."

On top of that, they don't own TD Garden, so probably a new stadium build like Ballmer in LA.
