Capn12
For arguments sake, here are Franks numbers for 2003 in situational areas: G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS Bases Empty 151 307 23 68 13 0 23 23 43 72 0 0 .221 .325 .489 .813 Runners On 145 239 64 78 22 0 19 82 57 43 0 0 .326 .464 .657 1.121 RISP 121 125 47 35 9 0 8 52 32 27 0 0 .280 .440 .544 .984 RISP w/2 Outs 73 59 22 18 4 0 3 25 10 14 0 0 .305 .423 .525 .948 Bases Loaded 22 6 14 2 0 0 1 9 2 2 0 0 .333 .444 .833 1.278 Also, JeffHanneman, not sure who you consider to be a "kid" here, but ya might wanna build up a reputation on Soxtalk before you start endless flames and attacks on other members character. Just a thought You are the one who claimed that Frank hit .250 with RISP last season. Stating your obvious ignorance on the subject is simply a fact, not a character attack. You do a good job of grinding your own character through the mud. You don't need my assistance for that. Obviously, your reading skills are on par with my 2 year old nephew, although he may have a slight edge. If you would have actually "taken the time" to look back, you woulda seen that CWSOX45 posted that, and not I. Sorry you had that confused, as it only takes 20-30 seconds to actually confirm or refute your statements.
winninguglyin83
No National League team will EVER offer Frank as much money as he is owed by the White Sox.
The Critic
I'd be mildly surprised if Frank even took a whiff of free agency. I'd be absolutely FLOORED if anyone offered him more than he stands to make with the Sox. By the way, all, the REAL Jeff Hanneman is the weakest member of Slayer, a rudimentary guitarist who relies on tweedling guitar solos to mask the fact that he cannot play all that well, just really basic stuff really fast. The troll JeffHanneman is the weakest poster on Soxtalk, a special ed student who relies on basic insults to mask the fact that he has nothing to say and doesn't even say his nothing very clearly. SuperSteve
OK so lets start the betting pool... JeffHenneman=Bmr, Clu, or Roman? You decide. Neither. Even they have more respect than this guy.

Chisoxfn
Sometimes you have to look at more than stax. Frank is obviously a Sox icon, the best offensive player in the history of the team. In the old days, you'd want him in a Sox uniform forever. But the old ways no longer work, not with free agency and payroll disparities. Sox have to put together a complete team within the budget JR presents. And Frank is no longer a good fit. He causes disruptions in the clubhouse. He is incredibly streaky, certain to lapse into two or three lengthy funks every season. He bristles at playing first base and then starts to hit when he goes out there. Defensively, though, you can't afford to have him out there. He pouts when he doesn't hit third. He is a station to station runner who clogs up the bases in the middle of the order. He refuses to slide and runs into too many avoidable outs. It's time to turn this team over to some younger and hungrier players. Not that he will actually leave. He'll be back. For the second consecutive season, no other team will offer him a contract, which tells you all you need to know about how much other teams value what The Big Hurt has to offer. Name one player on this team who didn't have a two week stretch where they produced next to nothing, you simple-minded twit. > You are as mistaken as a woman over 35 who thinks she's attractive. Frank was offered a contract last season by the Dodgers. This year THE FREE AGENT MARKET hasn't even opened yet! Try buying a clue. Geeze...lets not get personal when two people have differing opinions. I'm of the belief that if Frank is indeed a major distraction in the clubhouse then he should be gone. Its not going to happen and Frank is going to be back next year either way, but I personally think at this point in time the Sox would be better off with his money spent elsewhere. If I'm wrong in regards to his clubhouse behavior then I'd gladly take Frank back in the 5 hole. He was productive last year and his OBP is very good. I am ticked he decided to hit for the fences, cause I saw too many situations last year where they could of gotten the guys over and failed to and bottom line thats the reason the Sox weren't in the playoffs this season. As far as players being streaky, your right on, the entire team was streaky and to a point every player is streaky. In the cas of Konerko he had about two good months and sucked the rest of the way. Maggs had a few amazing months and other not so good months. By far Carlos Lee was this teams most consistent player while Olivo was the one that was most consistently bad at the plate. Jose was right there with him, minus his typical 2 week stint of crushing the ball. If their was one person to point at to figure out why the Sox didn't make the playoffs, then they would of made the adjustment along time ago and the Sox would of got in. THe fact was the balance of the team was out of whack as was the execution of the team on a whole. Offensively, things will have to change, quite possibly the philosphy needs to be changed. I think those changes will start when Maggs and Konerko are shipped out. In regards to Maggs, it will be a financial reason, with Konerko it will be both. SuperSteve
To Jeff: Name someone who didn't not contribute during a two week stretch. Well how about Dam and ELo. Carlos was pretty consistent aswell. I hate how the 'kid' says stuff about grammar (which I personally tend to have pretty good grammar) and has his posts put together like this. It just annoys me. And about the Sox, we need to have it changed up. It cleasly isn't working. That is what it comes down to.
CWSOX45
What a bunch of idiots you guys are. At $6 million, Thomas is a bargain. His .952 OPS was 6th in the league. Just look at how much every other hitter who can hit 40 homers and walk 100 times a year is making. Buy a freaking clue, morons. Yes we're all morons, interesting you seemed to left out out one vital stat about Frank. He hits .250 with runners in scoring position....hmmm..now what was our problem in Minnesota when we were swept? Before you go around calling people idiots, maybe you ought to look at other points of views various posters around here have to offer. If not than you should just leave, because you won't be here long. CWSOX45 Try taking the time to look up his splits before making a statement like this, moron. He did not hit .250 with RISP. It was such a "vital" stat, you couldn't even take the time to look it up. Fine he hit .280 with runners in scoring position, so I was wrong. Big f***in deal, that's still not acceptable as our number three hitter. Our number three hitter is supposed to be our best hitter, Thomas is obviously not. Ordonez or Lee could fill that role just as well if not better. As for you Jeffrey, you need to grow up. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean you have to spout off and go apes*** on the entire Soxtalk community. So far with your posts all you've shown me is that you are incapable of having a good baseball discussion with the rest of us. I will not lower myself to your pathetic level, and will not shoot back childish insults in your direction. So go ahead keep making those smartass and rude responses, cuz you'll be outta here before you know it. CAN YOU SAY....YOU GAWN!
