Autumn Dreamin
Jaime Barria had been listed as the Angels' probable starter vs. Lynn on Wednesday, but they just put him in to pitch in extras vs. the Marlins. Presumably that means he won't start after all, but I'm not sure who takes his place since they used their other swing guy Silseth too. Looks like Detmers would have 5 days, so there's a chance we end up dodging Shohei on the mound and facing back to back LHP at home. Better make something of it. Or just wishful thinking, I guess... caulfield12
"The Blue Jays released a statement to blogTO regarding Bass’ actions, saying, "Individual player sentiments are not representative of the club's beliefs." They also reaffirmed their commitment to "providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for all." Rogers Centre — the Blue Jays' home stadium — will be at the forefront of Toronto's Pride Month festivities in June and will host the organization’s fourth annual Pride Weekend when the Minnesota Twins visit June 9 and 10." Looks like Ohtani is not going to be a realistic target for Seidler at this point. Even with really high (relative local ratings), that market's just so small, something like 27th in the majors. Autumn Dreamin
Braves lose their second in a row to the A's. They have been held to 3 runs over 18 innings by the formidable Oakland pitching staff. Raisel Igelesias was walked off by a team who's total payroll is just barely higher than his contract (both around $60m). That's baseball. pcq
Uh-oh Chris Sale. I hope it's not the same shoulder he throws with because that could be trouble. He might want to start over as a RHP.

What's he gotta do? 4 out of 5 yrs with twins > than .300 average, batting title last year, .399 YTD this year. We're talking Rod Carewish. We're talking Rod Carewish. Fwiw, I'm being facetious. But to answer your question: defense and low power are what he's being dinged for. But he's still right there.
