Ozzie for Manager
How could a guy who practiced every day the same muscle movements be so awful. His pitches to some batters missed by 18 inches off the plate. There has got to be a single A player who would get better results.

Diekman is a sunk cost and they are trying to get to some bridge between him and Crochet most likely. I agree though - such a short leash with Ruiz, you'd expect the same with Diekman. Sambuca
How many hitters does this jerk have to walk before he is actually DFA’ed?

He better be gone before that. There is almost no other outcome than him walking at least one batter. Basically just bringing him in for the sole purpose of putting runners on base. Tonight it was him also creating a high leverage situation to burn your closer. And by design apparently, according to Grifol post-game. He’s not even striking guys out. He is almost at 30 IP with the White Sox now. Why?????
wegner
This Diekman first guy out of the bullpen with a short lead bullshit has to stop Correction, this Diekman ever out of the bullpen with a lead needs to stop Correction of the correction, Diekman out of the bullpen at all must stop asap
Harry Chappas
Not going to defend him but when SF had a heavy LHH out there he did well. He should be last man out of the pen not first. Pedro may be a nice guy but he's a horseshit manager.

However I will say a good bullpen makes a manager look good and it works the other way too. All those walks really haunt. Again, this all about Rick Hahn who continues to send this team further backwards as a loser organization and embarrassment to this city and major league baseball. His handling of the rebuild since 2016 has been an nightmare debacle. He has done a horrible job of building a competitive and healthy roster, securing a productive bullpen and now he couldn't even make the right choice for the team manager. He got a pass on TLR, but this one is clearly on Hahn.

In 8 appearances: 6 innings, 7 BB's, 7 ER's, 10.50 ERA and WHIP of 1.83. Pedro you're up 3-0 with only three more innings to cover and this is your first bullpen choice? This trainwreck is now gaining serious momentum heading down the rest of this season! 1
ChiSox59
Diekman leads the league in appearances. Not sure how you allow your worst pitcher to do that.

It really is mind-boggling. Hopefully Grifol will eventually learn bullpen management, but he hasn’t hit the ground running in that area.
Sambuca
1.9 WHIP through 25+ innings with the White Sox. Not sure how literally anyone else could be worse. Not only is he still rostered, he’s being relied on to protect leads late in the game. Not like this team didn’t desperately need a win. This was such a crucial game to potentially avoid sending them into a massive tailspin. Yes, I was still holding out hope they could right the ship a little.
