Andrus below Mendoza again perfect ending...

Elvis is done unfortunately. OK, trade the Royals some lousy Class A pitcher or outfielder for either Mike Massey or Nicky Lopez. Might as well let a local guy play 2B during the rebuild/reload that's coming.

That's not going to be enough to stave off the pitchforks for Hahn and JR and this false bill of goods.

Exactly, why would they want to stay.

They suck. The talent level is scary bad compared to what it was supposed to be.

You could see it in the projections. The true talent level of half the starting position players went from something like 3-5 projected WAR closer to 1.  This goes for TA, Moncada, Eloy, Vaughn etc. On the pitching side Kopech and Fat Boy are basically 1 WAR players instead of 3.  Hell Nick Madrigal at one point was projected to be a 2.5 WAR player. We now have replaced that expectation with a likely zero WAR player in Andrus, or even negative. Oh look, there's about 15 wins less just in those players listed.

Somehow, the pitching staff papered over a lot of the issues with the position players last year. That isn't happening so far this year and that's why we are on pace to lose 100 games.

Not sure.  But they need to start building for the future and Colome definitely isn't that.

You're not building for the future right now .Have to get the present fixed if possible.
I've wanted to get younger guys the last couple of off seasons.Instead we got Kimbrel, Pollock,Harrison, Andrus, Diekman, Kelly, 1st basemen in the OF, an over the hill manage , more injuries than you find in a nursing home, an owner who won't fire anyone and a bunch of FO people deserving of being fired.

There is no reason to rebuild. Absolutely bring up Colome and whoever else you can find in AAA and push for this year.

Well, that's obviously what Hahn will do in order to salvage his career, but come up a day late and a dollar short.

No major moves will or can be made before late May regardless.

Like hiring a blind man to paint your house.

You're not getting a competitive advantage by rebuilding with the current regime in place. If things continue in this direction it's hard to envision anyone in the C Suite returning next year. Prognosticating a rebuild strategy is worthless. This start has been horrible but there must be an attempt to turn this around fast.

Pushing for this year is all they can do at this point.

This is what I don’t think people who want the team blown up understand very well. This isn’t the Chicago Bears. It’s the same owner who won’t fire his front office. It is also April 18 and not the trade deadline at all.

If the Sox are as bad as I think they are going to be they may trade a bunch of guys IMO and try to get 3-4 players in each deal including 1-2 GOOD prospects in each deal. For instance Eloy, Robert, Timmy, Vaughn, Sheets and both catchers and Burger plus Cease and Liam. Just get a ton of guys back including several GOOD prospects.

The reason u can do this is there are no fan favorites anymore thus no uproar for the next rebuild. Maybe keep one stud as the Royals have done with Salvy. Mabe ours is Robert.

You want Rick Hahn to do this at the deadline or in the offseason?
