DBAHO
I stick to my theory that Ponson signs in the very first week of free agency for about 21 mill over 3 yrs. Great news about the Mets possibly being interested in Koch. Well, they do like to overpay for guys who are past their prime. See Mo Vaughn, Tom Glavine, Roberto Alomar etc. U'd think they would hav learned afta signing Vaughn, Piazza etc. has blown up in their face. Seriously doubt they'd go afta him, and I think Flash will be on his way to Philly in 04 anyways. But 1 certainly won't be here next year. Payroll ain't goin up to $70 mill, it'll be $60 mill tops. That's why all da talk bout trading Maggs, Konerko.
Steff
Ponson maybe. Someone will outbid His Cheapness for Millwood. Bye bye Bart. Now KW gets to show everyone why he should be this team's GM. I'm gonna :puke Why the f*** are you such an asshole? What else can Kenny do? NO OTHER GM could have ever got Jerry to agree to sign a pitcher to the contract he was willing to give Colon. KW is a gamer, and he is the best thing for this organization. Seriously, what can a GM do if someone decides to turn down your best offer, which mind you , is a very fair deal. KW is TRYING to win here.....unless the crappy GMs we have had in the past. It is a shame you are such a moron you cannot see that. Killa being an asshole..? For speaking the truth..? Steff
I loved the Line of His Cheapness... Were f***ed, With Reinsdork as Owner where f***ed. They wanted to Deffer Money cause el Cheapo doesn't want to spend. Well if we're ever gonna win it's spending.. Sheesh Sell the Dam team Reinsdorf :dips*** I think that's a stab in the back to ticket holders and to the people who went to the games and the attendance grew... Ahhhh another 5 years of Suckyness Josh.. Bart was NEVER coming back here.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
The two Chicago "baseball experts" on the sportsradio stations were saying that, so take it for what it's worth. I've said it before - Reinsdorf is of the mindset of "you come to the park, and then I'll spend money." The Sox fans are of the mindset of "you spend money, and then we'll come to the park." And we all saw what happened when the Sox spent some extra money. Reinsdorf had better remember that. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, CHAIRMAN. And don't you forget it, either. The only time JR has ever spent suprising money was on Albert Belle, and that was because he was pissed at the other owners. He's always said he'll spend if we come out, but he has never kept his end of the bargain. Even last year, if that's what you're talking about, he was spending the Mets money and the Rangers money, not his own. Yesterday's paper said our budget will be in the 55 million dollar to 60 million dollar range. So it's adios to Maggs either now or next July. If we keep Maggs through the winter, we have no room for any substantial pitching improvements. Everyone who says we're screwed until we get new ownership, you got that right. slick03
thats fine with me....i would rather see him spend that money on a few other players anyways to fill up some holes; ie: shortstop, another outfielder (if maggs is traded), and maybe one or 2 decent starters
Wise Master Buehrle
The stance being taken by KW with Colon could just be a negotiation ploy. If Colon does, in fact, want to stay in Chicago (I know ... it's probably BS), his agent may just be trying to get more out of the Sox. Now KW, could be, in effect, calling his bluff by saying we have to move on to other options. Colon may decide at this point to accept the offer without risking a depressed free agent market, ala Kenny Rogers last year. Then again, probably not. Today's Daily Herald says the offer was taken off the table. They're done with him.
southsider2k5
This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. KW said in Sept that if we couldn't get an extension done with Bart early that we weren't going to wait for him, and we would move on. Now we are on to Plan B, whatever that is. winninguglyin83
i just hope Plan B isn't Jimmy Haynes, Rick Helling or Scott Erickson. But that's what I fear, somebody outta the Todd Ritchie mold. Can't see Millwood coming here. I believe he'll return to Atlanta, where he has a house. Braves are going to use Maddux's money to bring him back. Ponson is a possibility, but there is no guarantee Sir Sidney will be a stud. Time for KW to shake a whole lotta trees. As for you, why don't you throw a pussy over your head and f*** some sense into yourself :fyou . It's obvious that you think KW can do no wrong. Fine. That is your opinion and I respect it. I never called anyone who backed KW an asshole. You, on the other hand, can't take someone with the reverse opinion on your guy KW which makes you the asshole here. Have a nice day. JoshPR
As for you, why don't you throw a pussy over your head and f*** some sense into yourself . Priceless.. Gotta remember too. That Mark Buherle had an Off-year. So if mark Comes back to his numero 1 status then signing Ponson and Maybe a brian Anderson isn't a bad idea. Mark B Ponson Garland Loaiza Anderson Is not a bad 5. If loaiza can pitch well again at least 15-17 wins and I expect(How many times I've said this) for Garland to bust out of his shell well we aren't in bad shape. The Pen needs some Help. I would have send Adkins to Winter Ball to learn a Splitter or an Off Speed Pitch, he got the stuff to be in the Pen.

He put up pretty damn good numbers this season, nothing stud worthy, but still pretty damn good.
Pastime
After reading several publications, listening to enough talk radio to make my head spin, and glancing over scouting reports, the verdict is out on Bartolo Colon. His arm is fading, and he's deteriorating. The "experts" say that he will break down very soon, and there's a lot of surpise that he hasn't already. Basically, I've heard/read 12 different people who say that he's pitching on borrowed time. I don't know where these "experts" gather their information, but I look at it this way - 12 different people all think the same thing, and they're paid to analyze this crap. I'm not. Let Colon break down on another staff, not ours. Besides 4 starts last year, he was very hittable and mediocre. His record verifies that. Goodbye, Blimpolo. I would tell you don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, but we've never made a door that big.
