The good news is is they are rained out they can't lose.

I like the straight single gate entry doubleheaders like the one played last week, since Jerry must credit back parking and ticket revenue. Would prefer a rain out Saturday forcing another single gate on Sunday, but the current forecast has it flip flopped. Doesn't mean it won't change.

In better news, the official White Sox IG account posted a new promotion. For every game under .500 the team is prior to the homestand beers are 20 cents off. If current trends hold, beer will be free by mid summer.

How generous!!!

I’m going to the game on Saturday night for my birthday celebration. I paid $56 per seat in the lower bowl in the infield since I had 17 people going. Maybe I’ll start the game thread to bring good luck and end the streak?

You just financed their A teams' meal budget/per diem for a week.

I think that’s 2 straight “competitive” seasons with an 8 game losing streak in April?

They have matched the 8 game losing streak from last year.  But I don’t think this one is ending at 8.

I should have waited, the prices came down on Ticketmaster. It might be the only game I go to all year unless I go to welcome Hendriks back and leave.

In a very sick way I'm kind of rooting for them to lose out the rest of the month and have it dip into the Twins series. I want to see how long they'll just let losses pile up before making some sort of change, like what is their breaking point?

I’m in a very similar boat.  I’ll be surprised if they win a game on this home stand.  It’s a strange curiosity to see just how bad they can get before anything changes.  I want to see them in the very basement with the A’s, but I fear that still won’t force JR’s hand.

Are the Sox trying to move to Vegas too? ?

Let me assert my firm belief, that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I'm with you. I want to see them break the record and then some. The organization is well on their way to becoming a national embarrasment.

“Made some mental mistakes too — throwing to the wrong base, not knowing the runner. We’ve got to talk about that as well.”---Pedro Grifol

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they spend six weeks working on fundamentals in spring training? Grifol was talking about how they were stressing attention to detail.

Bottom line, these players are "baseball stupid" and Grifol and his staff are like other recent managers/staffs in that they apparently can't teach it properly. Even worse he doesn't seem willing to reprimand and bench the players for making the mistakes.

When you are replacing them with Romy Sosa and our AA/AAA rosters.... classic managerial quandary.

That used to be Royals' way... promote each draft/signing class one level at a time, let them learn fundamentals and how to win each league together... from A ball through Advanced A to AA in  a progression.   Sox have never concerned themselves with learning how to win at all across the majority of affiliates... more concerned with cutting costs/duplication.
